Jennifer, who was about to knock, froze at the entrance.
“It has nothing to do with Catalina.
“No matter whether she comes back or not, I would never have a kid with Jennifer.”
“Why?”
“People only have so much energy. Once she has a kid, she’ll change. Now, my grandpa likes her, and my mom is okay with her. But once a kid is born, it won’t be that simple.” Brayan took a drag of his cigarette. For the first time, his charming smile looked annoying to Jennifer.
“I knew she was pregnant, so I acted rough on purpose, messing up her uterus. The doctor said she’ll never have kids again.”
His calm, almost cold voice made it sound like he was talking about something that didn’t matter to him at all.
Jennifer was soaked in cold sweat on the other side of the door.
“You’re being so harsh on Jennifer. So who’s gonna keep your family going in the future? Isn’t it still gonna be Catalina?”
Brayan didn’t say yes or no to Ronan’s guess.
After finishing his cigarette and wrapping up his chat with Ronan, he walked out of the office and noticed something that Ronan had missed.
It was a bag of herbal medicine.
Jennifer practically ran to Spring Nursing Home like she was escaping.

She couldn’t stay a minute longer at the entrance of Brayan’s office in his company.
She felt like puking.
Every word that came out of Brayan’s mouth made her feel so sick that she wanted to throw up.
So that was the guy she had loved for ten whole years.
He had chased and married her to get back at another girl.
And now he had killed their baby for the same reason!
Ten years of love, three years of marriage. All of it was just a joke!
Jennifer quickly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and walked into the nursing home.
Ever since she got married to Brayan, her mom had been moved here from the hospital.
Her mom wasn’t in great health to begin with, and then a global virus hit, leaving her with dementia.
Even though her mom didn’t recognize her anymore, there were some things she wanted to say.
In the past, her mom’s biggest wish was for her to have a happy marriage.
So she wanted to tell her mom that she had let her down.
In the evening, after leaving the nursing home, Jennifer went to a law firm nearby.

traffic.
When Brayan got home, he found the house dark.
He turned on the lights, and they shone on the herbal medicine and a bouquet of pink roses in his hands.
In the big, empty house, there was no steaming, delicious food waiting.
