No matter if she succeeded or failed, as long as she used her own money, she could follow her heart—make her own choices and live with the consequences, free from guilt or obligation.
But if she borrowed money, she’d be plagued by worries—what if she failed, what if she couldn’t pay us back, how would she face that?
She’d become hesitant and overcautious, and that kind of indecision is fatal in business. I don’t want this to hold her back from growing in the future.
Her decision to sell original shares wasn’t just about this current acquisition; she was clearly thinking ahead, planning for what’s to come.”
Foreman was taken aback.
Haynes… had thought that far ahead?
For a moment, Foreman was at a loss for words. All the things he wanted to say condensed into a single sentence.
“Haynie, you’re absolutely right.”
Haynes fell silent, but there was a flicker of something deep in his eyes, gone almost as soon as it appeared.

Williams family estate, Israel’s study.
Israel frowned. “It’s already the second day—and Stella still hasn’t come to us, asking to sell her original shares?”
Coleman replied, “Not a word. Maybe she’s waiting until the third day—holding out until there’s no other choice and she finally comes to beg us.”
Israel scoffed, “So we’re just the family dump now? Anything nobody else wants, they just toss our way?”
Aurora looked like she wanted to say something, but hesitated.
Coleman caught the look and asked, “Aurora, is there something on your mind?”
In the Williams family, Aurora had never spoken ill of Stella.
Aurora finally said, “Yesterday I visited Sellers. He told me he’d heard that Stella really is planning to sell her original shares—but apparently not to us. She’s looking elsewhere.”
Coleman shook his head. “If they find out, it’ll only put them in a tough spot. Are they really going to step in themselves and deal with Stella? No, this time we handle it. Even if Father and my brother find out afterwards, they won’t blame us.”
A cold, satisfied smile spread across Israel’s lips. “Should’ve done this a long time ago. You two are always clinging to family ties. We treat Stella like family, but has she ever treated us the same?”
“Let’s show her what the Williams family is really capable of. She needs to learn we’re not powerless—she’s only been spared out of blood ties, not because we’re weak.”

Stella’s office.
Stella’s brow furrowed as she received her third call from a shareholder that morning, each one saying they couldn’t make it to the share transfer meeting.
Joshua, noticing her troubled look, asked, “Is something wrong?”
Stella’s voice was cool and steady. “Something’s off. Something’s definitely not right.”
