Joshua seemed to sense her gaze, pausing in the middle of drying his hair.
He turned to look at Stella, finding her staring at him, utterly transfixed.
A barely perceptible smile touched the corner of his lips.
"When did you get here?"
His voice snapped Stella back to reality. She realized with a jolt of embarrassment that she had been gawking at his body. Joshua always seemed so lean and reserved in his suits; she had no idea he was so... well-built underneath.
Her mouth suddenly felt dry. Stella, who was usually unfazed by any situation, found her mind completely blank for a few seconds.
"Sorry, your door was open. I was in a hurry to look at the contracts, so I let myself in. Um... if this is a bad time, I can just take these back to my room..."
As she spoke, Stella instinctively started to stand up. She tried to appear calm, but her hands fumbled, and the stack of documents she was holding slipped from her grasp, scattering across the floor.
Stella froze. The mortification was overwhelming. She quickly bent down to gather the papers.
Seeing this, Joshua tossed his towel aside and walked slowly toward her. As he approached, Stella's heart began to pound erratically against her ribs. The air was filled with the fresh, clean scent of soap, making her feel slightly light-headed.
Joshua reached her side and crouched down to help her pick up the fallen documents.
"There are a few clauses here that were amended. You should probably look them over again to make sure everything lines up."
