The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon! novel Chapter 989

Chapter 989: Chapter 989: Dearest Ones

"Are you saying the trouble lies with the panda named Freya? It has a dire fate?"

Hill was somewhat incredulous upon hearing Scarlett Jennings’ response.

What does the dire fate of that panda have to do with Old Yang??

Scarlett Jennings, noticing his lack of understanding, simply said,

"The passing of a loved one is a calamity in itself."

This kind of calamity doesn’t harm the body, but the heart.

Hill fell silent at the words "loved one."

He recalled Old Yang’s incessant chatter about that panda in recent days.

He remembered how Old Yang called Freya with affection and a smile.

And, occasionally when looking at Hill, Old Yang seemed to gaze at another panda through him, with eyes full of fondness.

Hill always prided himself as a national treasure, feeling everyone adored him, but never considered that humans could truly regard a panda as a loved one.

To his mind, people liked pandas because they were rare and cute, much like how they liked kittens and puppies.

But it turned out... they could be regarded as family too.

"Does this mean, as long as we help the panda named Freya get through its dire fate, Old Yang will be fine?"

Hill’s voice was soft, but there was an unusual seriousness in his tone.

Scarlett Jennings nodded, responding after a while,

"Yes."

Hill heard this and immediately laughed.

"Oh! I thought it was a big deal, but it’s just this!"

It’s just another panda, he’ll save it!

After all, he had received Old Yang’s care for four days, so he’d help rescue Freya in return.

That would settle the score.

Scarlett Jennings, understanding his intention, asked,

"How do you plan to help it?"

Not to mention that Freya had been sent into the mountains for wilderness training, just finding it would take effort, and even if they found it, the Panda Base might not be willing to recall the panda on a whim.

Even for the Master, interfering with the base’s regulations wasn’t allowed.

But Hill wasn’t thinking that far ahead,

"First, find it."

Hill said,

"I’m a Panda Demon, so it’s easy to find the scent of another panda in the mountains."

Once he found it, he’d watch over Freya, so long as nothing happened to it, Old Yang would be fine.

Hill thought this plan was quite good.

So he acted immediately, breaking out and heading into the mountains alone.

By the time Old Yang noticed the missing phone and came searching, he found the door locks to Hill’s room intact, yet there was no sign of the panda inside.

Hill reached the base of the mountain, transformed into his panda form, and began sprinting through the forest.

Hill had grown up with family care and had rarely roamed the mountains alone, but pandas are innately adapted to the forest, a place his nature could easily handle.

The chubby black and white figure moved quickly through the forest, occasionally pausing to sniff the air, then darting off again.

Within half a day, Hill followed the trail to a bamboo grove deep in the mountains, finding a large panda clinging to the top of a tree.

He immediately clamped onto the tree and swiftly climbed to the top.

The tree-dwelling panda had detected his presence as he approached, watching him warily while clutching the tree.

Hill raised his head and made small, soft sounds, asking it,

"Are you Freya?"

Upon hearing the familiar name, Freya’s ears twitched, and she relaxed slightly, leaning her head toward him and making a sound in response.

It was an acknowledgment.

Having found the right panda, Hill immediately continued in a gentle tone,

"Great, Freya, from now on, you are my little brother. Wherever I go, you follow!"

With him protecting her, he’d see who or what could take the panda from his grasp!

Hill felt confident in his plan.

However, after mingling in the mountains with Freya for just half a day, he began to tire.
