Chapter 203
Lucille told Emma to just say she doesn’t know. As soon as she sent that, Cedrick’s message came too, directly send- ing her a screenshot of Aydan’s Instagram, demanding: “Explain this to me. What’s going on?”
Lucille didn’t reply.
Cedrick’s messages came one after another.
“Not replying, huh?”
“Turned off your phone, huh?”
“Lucille, have I spoiled you too much?”
“When you took my money, you didn’t hesitate, and now you’re fooling around abroad with another man?”
“How long have you been planning this?”
“Visas don’t get approved in a day or two!”
“How long have you been hooking up behind my back?”
“Fine, not replying, not answering calls, have the guts to never come back!”
Lucille simply put her phone aside, ready to take a nap, then help Meredith prepare dinner for the students.
In a seaside villa on some island.
Cedrick, with a dark face, paced back and forth in the living room.
Finally, he picked up his phone and started browsing for flight tickets.
Maricela had been witnessing his fury nearby and cautiously called out, “Cedrick…”
Cedrick pinched the bridge of his nose. “Maricela, stay and enjoy yourself here for a few more days. I’ll book a flight back first.”
“Cedrick…” Maricela murmured, “Flying back now won’t help. She’s not at home, nor in Seaston…”
Cedrick finally drew a deep breath. “I’ve lost my mind.”
“Cedrick, don’t be angry.”
Maricela softly comforted him, “Lucille might’ve just gotten bored at home and went out to have some fun.”
“Out having fun!

How could she go out with her foot injury?
Where could she possibly go without telling me, especially with another man?
Hadn’t I promised to accompany her myself in a few days?”

Cedrick’s outburst ended when he saw Maricela looking wronged, realizing he shouldn’t have lost control before her.
“Sorry, Maricela. I wasn’t mad at you, I just…” At last he understood why restlessness had plagued him these days- the answer lay here.
Maricela quickly shook her head. “Cedrick, I understand. You don’t need to apologize. I’m not upset.”
Cedrick remained silent, brows tightly knit.
“Cedrick…” Maricela bit her lip. “Should we book tickets? Let’s go back together.”
“No need.”
He offered her a faint smile. “Go to bed. Get some rest.”
Maricela shook her head again. “If you’re unhappy, I can’t enjoy this either. We’ll have plenty of chances later. Let’s just go home.”
Cedrick pinched the bridge of his nose, leaning back on the sofa to study her. “Wouldn’t that be unfair to you?”
Maricela gave a gentle smile. “Not at all, Cedrick. Don’t you know me by now? I only want you happy. I only want things to go smoothly for you.”
Cedrick sighed deeply. “Sleep first. We’ll talk tomorrow.”
“Alright.”
Maricela agreed but stayed seated on the carpet by his feet.
“Go. I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
Maricela nodded. “Cedrick, talk calmly with Lucille. Don’t lose your temper. The angrier you get, the more she’ll run, won’t she?”
At the mention, Cedrick’s frown deepened.
Maricela hurriedly added, “Cedrick, really, don’t overthink it. You’ve pampered Lucille like a princess these years. It’s natural she’d develop some little tantrums. Girls are like that–spoil them completely, and they’ll act spoiled. But she’s surely just throwing a fit…”
Gloom settled heavily over Cedrick’s face.
“Cedrick, she’ll definitely come back!”
Maricela adopted a coaxing tone. “Think about it–she’s a dancer. She can’t find work out there. You’ve spoiled her for five years. She can’t lift a finger, knows nothing. And honestly? Everything you gave her was top–tier. Without

you, she couldn’t earn enough for one of her handbags in years. How would she survive? She’s just having fun… she’ll be back.”
