Chapter 240
Cedrick stared in the direction Lucille had left, silent for a long time, while Lucille had long since disappeared. Lucille was very busy all day, with no time to think about what Cedrick and Maricela were doing.
She went back to the hotel to shower and cat breakfast, then came to the troupe to help set up scenery and prepare props. Busy until afternoon, when actors arrived, she helped with costumes and makeup.
Their performance time in Canal Town was only one day. Tonight wasn’t a full dance drama, but a highlights show, where each group would dance one scene. So, many actors, more complex sets and props, and makeup was especially busy.
Lucille and all the backstage staff had almost no time to eat. In the afternoon, after Meredith forced everyone to take turns eating a few bites, Lucille planned to go to the restroom–she’d been holding it for a long time.
But, she never expected to run into Maricela after coming out of the restroom.
She was deliberately waiting for her, and only Maricela was there, Cedrick wasn’t around.
Lucille didn’t plan to acknowledge her, heading straight to the theater backstage, but Maricela was faster and blocked her way.
“Lucille, are you afraid to face me directly?”
Maricela snorted, “Don’t think about running. You’re limping on one leg, you can’t outrun me.”
“What do you want?”
Lucille clenched her fist, suppressing the urge to slap her.
Maricela looked her up and down, “I checked, you don’t have your phone, and there’s no surveillance here.”
“So what?”
Lucille wondered if Maricela actually wanted to start a fight?
Although her leg wasn’t good, it didn’t mean she couldn’t handle Maricela.
“I’m not afraid of you recording, nor of you filming, Lucille. Please have some self–awareness.”
Maricela dropped the pitiful, coquettish act she put on for Cedrick, her eyes turning vicious. “You don’t deserve Cedrick.”

Chapter 240
She came here to say this?
In the past, those words might have wounded her. But now, Lucille retorted coldly, “Then please go convince your Cedrick to agree to the divorce quickly.”
“You…” Maricela choked on her anger. “Do you think Cedrick doesn’t want it? He never wanted to marry you! If you hadn’t constantly played up that bad leg of yours, could you have trapped him so tightly?”
Second time.
Like those bastards Harlan and David, Maricela loved using her bad leg to provoke her. Just today–not even count- ing the morning–this was already the second mention.
Lucille smiled. “What a pity.”
“Pity what?” Maricela snapped.
“Pity that today, you still have to beg this cripple!” Lucille laughed.
“Beg you? Don’t make me laugh! I’m Cedrick’s first love! Even after five years abroad, he still holds me closest to his heart! Your home’s passcode is my birthday–have you forgotten? Why would I ever beg you?!” Maricela shrieked, her voice rising hysterically.
Lucille remained perfectly calm, her smile unwavering. “Really? Then why come pressure me for a divorce?”
“I…” Maricela faltered, struggling before blurting, “Cedrick doesn’t love you! A marriage without love is immoral!” “Really?” Lucille’s smile turned icy. “Still slightly more moral than being a mistress who knows she’s a mistress.” “You!” Maricela trembled with rage. “You’re the mistress! Cedrick and I were first! You slithered in while I was abroad–you’re the mistress!”
“I have a marriage certificate,” Lucille stated evenly. “Ours is legally recognized.”
“You…” Maricela lost control. “Didn’t you want a divorce?”
“Oh.” Lucille scratched her chin lightly. “I suddenly don’t want it anymore.”
“You!” Maricela screamed. “I knew it! You’re playing hard to get! You never wanted a divorce–you’re using it to threaten Cedrick into staying away from me!”
