Karl was highly satisfied with the turnout once they set up their stall in what appeared to be an empty former furniture store.
There were still pricing signs for sofas and beds hung on the walls, but the store itself was empty, so Karl had set out cabinets from the Guild storage to create a proper store for customers to come visit.
"You know we’re only here for the day, right?" Prince Nathan asked as Karl finished decorating.
"It will all clean up in seconds, since I’m just putting it back in inventory. They don’t have an open air market here, apparently, and this is what they found for us to set up shop.
We will just sell what the locals need for a few hours, and then call it a night.
One fight a day, cleaning up the leftover monsters across the islands, should be more than enough work for the King to accept that we’re not slacking." Karl joked.
Prince Nathan laughed. If one major battle a day was the standard for ’not slacking’, what was the rest of the world doing? Was that not called overworking yourself?
But he didn’t say that out loud. Instead, he took a moment to consider what the motivation behind the Darklight Host wanting to fight so much and in so many places might be.
Some of the answer was obviously to get materials for their crafting, and that was an honourable enough endeavour.
However, he didn’t think that was the primary reason.
"Do you always fight that much?" He asked carefully.
"Well, not all of us. I have to spend most of my time crafting or meeting with people. However, Lady Rae certainly loves to be a dungeon, and every raid team needs Golem Mages and healers, so it’s a bit hard for the ladies to escape." Karl agreed.
"Plus, they’re a little bit bloodthirsty. Thor and I, we’re the peaceful and gentle ones, you see. The ladies are the ones to watch out for. Even Lotus. Don’t underestimate the level of ferocity that a tiny Green Dragon Priestess can exhibit if someone steals her snacks or her cuddle bear."
Remi laughed, while Prince Nathan looked bemused.
"She still sleeps with a stuffed toy?"
"No, her cuddle bear is her girlfriend Ophelia. The Werebear Berserker. I believe that you met her earlier?"
Nathan nodded. "I see now."
He didn’t. But two seconds later, he did. And the expression of realization that he made was enough to make Rae laugh out loud.
"Let’s call in the shoppers so that they don’t cry at the delay.
I’ve got everything that we need on display, and in a full array of colour themes."
Remi had an assortment of potions out as well, but Karl was somewhat limited in what he could put out, as they didn’t have much Mythic gear to begin with, and the last stop had purchased everything that he put out.
He was really going to have to take some time to make more.
Fortunately, there were Totem and Overlord Ranked weapons in abundance, and those were always the second best in sales, next to accessories.
Shoppers flooded into the store when one of the dragons of the local guard unlocked the door, giving Karl just enough time to start his sales pitch.
