Chapter 30 Eliezer Wants to Meet Sylvia

The accusatory message came with a photo Brayden had posted, the scene from Golden Willow Restaurant where Lindsey helped apply medicine. No one had responded to it initially.

Instead, after this question was posted, many messages popped up.

Kendrick: “Brayden, forget the bar for a second. Brielle’s an adult, and she can go out if she wants. But letting the media blow this up is on you. Online backlash is messy, especially with the Oconnells‘ PR team in play. Putting Brielle in the crosshairs wasn’t smart.”

Alden: “Relax, guys. We already handled the news. Brayden, you need to reflect on this. When I get to Rivendale, I expect you to step down quickly!”

Fernando: “That guy dancing with Brielle is Eliezer’s friend. He’s been digging into her background. He’s found nothing yet, but he probably suspects the official records are fake. Brayden, keep your guard up.”

Dwayne: “Brielle can return to Velmora anytime if she needs a break.” Brayden didn’t dare respond. He could barely look at his phone.

He’d known there’d be fallout for taking Lindsey to the bar, but not this fast.

When he unlocked his screen, Fernando’s warning stared back at him. His eyes narrowed.

He relayed the news to Lindsey, who remained unfazed.

She didn’t even glance up from her blueprints. “I know. He won’t find. anything.”

They might uncover some clues, but they wouldn’t get concrete information unless she chose to reveal it herself.

When it came to Fernando’s technical skills, Zackary couldn’t compare.

Two weeks later, in the CEO’s office of Woodward Group, Adrien hurried in with a document. “Mr. Woodward, we’ve found information about designer Sylvia.”

Since the contract between Lakesey Studio and the Woodward Group expired, there had been no news except rumors about Lakesey Studio potentially collaborating with Lunaris Entertainment.

Neither the Woodward Group nor other companies trying to recruit Sylvia had been able to contact the designer.

Even Lunaris, which seemed close to securing a deal, had gone silent, becoming the subject of industry gossip.

Eliezer finally looked up from his paperwork. “Go on.”

Adrien placed the document on the desk. “These are invitations for this year’s D.R. Fashion Evening. It’s normally held overseas, but they’ve changed the location to Rivendale after hearing Sylvia would be there.”

“Lakesey Studio has announced they’ll determine their new partnership at this event,” Adrien added. “Whether they continue with old partners or start new ventures will be decided then.”

Eliezer nodded. “Confirm the event date and get two more invitations.”

“Yes, Mr. Woodward,” Adrien replied. As he turned to leave, Eliezer stopped him.

“Any news about Lindsey recently?”

Adrien froze. He hadn’t heard that question since Lindsey returned to the country.

Previously, he often heard this question because Lindsey was abroad, and Eliezer would periodically ask about her.

But every inquiry yielded the same report: Lindsey was studying overseas, working part–time in her spare time. Aside from the occasional change in jobs, her life remained monotonously uneventful.

Now that she had returned, why was the boss still asking?

Adrien shook his head. “Ms. Oconnell seems to have been spending most of her time at Golden Willow Restaurant lately. I heard that she’s learning culinary skills from Mr. Hodges. Beyond that, there’s not much else, except that Mr. Richmond from Lunaris occasionally sends flowers

over…”

Before he could finish, Adrien sensed the atmosphere in the room shift.

Eliezer expressionlessly tore a sheet of paper that had been accidentally scratched by his pen.

Adrien held his breath as he hurried out of the office.

Before long, the day of D.R. Fashion Evening arrived.

The venue hadn’t been deliberately changed. It had been set as Rivendale after careful consideration.

But as rumors spread, it was framed as an intentional move.

When Brayden saw the gossip circulating online, he found it both amusing and ironic.

“Who would’ve thought our dear Sylvia would be honored enough for D.R. to change the venue just for her? Truly impressive!”

Lindsey nearly rolled her eyes at him.

Ever since that topic came up, he’d been bringing it up daily, and it was driving her crazy.

Brayden teased deliberately, “But you’ll be the center of the attention. Brielle, you’ll have to watch out for me at the gathering.”

The contract was a done deal, signing with family was a no–brainer.

After listening to Brayden’s nonstop teasing the entire ride, Lindsey finally snapped, “Auntie only changed the venue to Rivendale to accommodate your career. But you keep making jokes at my expense.”

She stepped out in her heels, gracefully looping her arm through Brayden’s.

Just as they were walking toward the venue, a voice called out from behind them, “Lindsey, you’re here for the fashion event too? I thought you were helping out in Golden Willow Restaurant’s kitchen?”
