The Heiress They Couldn’t Break
Chapter 102 I’ll Wait

Gianna cursed inside, Damn Amelia. I never thought she’d have something like this up her sleeve.
I’ve completely underestimated her. What a mistake.

As for Amelia walking away from her contract with Nygard Entertainment, Maxwell couldn’t possibly keep it hidden from Marcelo and Miguel.
Especially not Marcelo, the one who called the shots at the company and the future head of Nygard Group. There was no way this could be kept from him.
The problem was that he had been swamped lately, with shareholders breathing right down his neck, so slip–ups weren’t allowed.
That was why most of Gianna’s entertainment business had landed on Maxwell’s plate.
Maxwell had already shown them the video, and both were stunned after watching it.
Amelia was still their little sister–no matter how rebellious or stubborn she acted, none of them ever wanted to see her in danger.
Especially not from the foster sister they all adored the most.
Luckily, Maxwell had also explained Gianna’s “reasoning.”
And Gianna had gone to both Marcelo and Miguel separately, crying her eyes out, giving them the same story she’d given Maxwell.
Since Amelia already had a bad rep with them for being defiant and never obedient, they believed Gianna without question.
In the end, all three brothers sided with Gianna, and she slipped out of trouble once again.
They didn’t dare tell their parents or any of the older relatives,
After leaving, Amelia planned to head straight back to her own company.
But the second she stepped out of Nygard Group’s building, her eyes landed on a familiar Juxury car parked right outside,
It was understated but insanely expensive–only three existed in the entire world, and the license plate numbers were in sequence.
Immediately, she thought of one person.

Sure enough, a tall and lean figure rolled down the window.
A face with sharp, noble features came into view.
It was Jeremy.

“I’ll drive you,” he said. His voice was calm, his dark eyes cold as ice—like a frozen pond you wouldn’t dare step on. His whole presence screamed untouchable.
But when he looked at Amelia, all that coldness softened into warmth.
“Why are you here?” Amelia asked, walking over and sliding naturally into the passenger seat.
“I knew you’d be coming here to deal with the contract. I figured you’d be done by now, so I came to pick you up,” he replied.
He said it casually, but the truth was, he’d been waiting a long while.
Amelia paused, then smiled faintly when she realized it.
She didn’t turn him down. “Alright, then take me back to the company.”
She didn’t really know why, but lately she found herself telling this man everything.
Like the fact that she was coming to Nygard Group to settle her contract today.
He had wanted to ask her out for a meal, so she had told him about this arrangement, not hiding it from him at all.
Inside the car, there was a faint whiff of expensive cologne, mixing with the rich leather seats. It made her feel strangely relaxed.
Jeremy kept his eyes on the road. “So? How’d it go? Smoothly?”
His voice was deep and magnetic, like a cello’s low notes.
“Yeah. It went exactly the way I thought it would,” she said.
Seeing her looking so self–assured, Jeremy felt a rush of pride. He couldn’t help saying, “Your company’s still new. How about letting me invest? I really believe in what you’re building.”
He wasn’t sure if she’d turn him down, but he genuinely wanted in.
To him, her being just his “doctor” wasn’t enough anymore.
He wanted something deeper, more real with Amelia.

Hearing his suggestion, she turned to him, surprised.
She hadn’t expected him to bring up investing.

But soon, a flicker of understanding passed through her eyes, and she started thinking it over seriously.
Her company was brand new and definitely needed money. If Jeremy invested, it would be a perfect boost.
“You’d really be willing to invest?” she asked.
A confident smile tugged at his lips. “Of course. I trust you, and I believe in where your company’s headed.”
Of course, he had another reason too, but that was something he kept to himself.
Amelia thought it over, then said, “It’s not impossible … just not possible right now.
“You can do it later. I don’t want you investing blindly. I’ll need to lay out where the company stands and where it’s headed first.”
She had artists to train, connections to use, and probably a lot of money to spend—especially if she wanted to put out something high quality.
Having someone she trusted who was willing to invest would definitely help.
And she wasn’t about to let him throw money in without making it worth his while.
Jeremy nodded. “Alright. I’ll wait.‘
And when he said “I’ll wait,” it wasn’t just about the money–it was about her.
