Chapter 186 It’s Her Fault

“That’s right! It was that rebellious girl who did this. If she hadn’t stuck her nose in, none of this would’ve happened!”
Gianna’s words hit home. Raymond’s face went red. He grew angrier and full of hate.
He spat, “I just don’t get along with her. I regret having such an ungrateful daughter!”
Raymond already had an illegitimate daughter he liked, obedient and polite. So a daughter like Amelia, wild and rebellious and always pushing back, was the last thing he wanted.
Amelia, on the other hand, was wild and couldn’t be controlled. A daughter like her—always defiant–was the last thing he wanted.
“You can’t say that,” Emery snapped. She didn’t like her husband’s words. “Amelia may be rebellious, but she isn’t entirely to blame.”
“She made a good movie. She was trying to avoid Vincent. If Gianna’s rabid fans said nasty things about her, isn’t it normal for her to deny it and explain?” Emery added.
She admitted she’d favored Gianna a little these past few years, but Amelia was still her real daughter.
No matter how stubborn or unlikeable she was, Emery had given birth to her.
Lately, Amelia’s coldness toward Vincent was obvious. Their families weren’t blind–they could see something was off.
Otherwise Marcelo wouldn’t have worked so hard to push them together again. Diana wouldn’t be so eager to win Amelia over.
If Amelia really couldn’t let Vincent go, would they bother with all these schemes?
Who actually plays hard to get like that?
“Dad, Mom makes a good point,” Gianna said, tears welling in her eyes as she looked at Raymond. “It’s my fault for not controlling those fans. They spread baseless rumors, and it pushed Amelia to extremes.
“I’ll hold a press conference to clear things up and admit my mistakes,” she promised.
“I’ll tell my assistant to rein in the fans. If that fails, I’ll shut down the fan groups and disband them myself.”
Sure enough, the adoptive mother still acted like one. When things got serious, Emery showed

No wonder her mother once said that after the old hag was dealt with, Gianna needed to make her move and get Emery out of the way.
Only then could Gianna make room for her real mother.
At first, Gianna had thought Emery was somewhat fond of her and wouldn’t act too quickly. Now Gianna felt differently.
But now she decided Emery was useless and didn’t need to be kept around much longer.
“We don’t have to do that,” Marcelo said again, his tone calm but heavy. “Let’s see how things unfold for now.”
Even though he was unhappy with Gianna and had a few complaints about her, he was nowhere near ready to dissolve her fan club.
After all, shutting down a fan club was no small thing. It was basically the same as asking her to quit the entertainment industry.
Over the years, the company had poured a huge amount of time, effort, and money into building her popularity and growing her fanbase.
They’d given her countless performance opportunities and created a polished public image just for her. Those projects alone had already cost the company a fortune.
The investment had been enormous, and they hadn’t even earned it all back yet. There was no way he could destroy that just because he was upset.
“Just take care of this mess,” Raymond snapped. “As long as the shareholders stop complaining, I don’t care about the rest.”
After venting his anger, he went upstairs.
The spacious living room fell into an uneasy silence. The air felt thick and heavy, almost frozen in place.
The things left unsaid, the emotions left unresolved–all of it lingered, fermenting into a suffocating tension that made everyone’s chest tighten.
This wasn’t something that could be smoothed over with a few quick words.
After Raymond left, Gianna stayed seated, quietly crying.
She hung her head low, trying to hold back the sound of her sobs.

Her delicate face, streaked with tears, made her look fragile and pitiful. But no one had the patience to care.
Everyone was too frustrated and drained to console her.
Emery watched as her husband stormed upstairs, still fuming. He had rarely ever raised his voice at her before, let alone lost his temper like this.
But tonight, all because of their children, he had scolded her in front of everyone. Humiliated and angry, she swallowed her frustration and followed him upstairs, her chest burning with pent–up resentment.
Miguel’s phone rang with an urgent call from the legal department, forcing him to leave immediately.
Marcelo and Maxwell both headed upstairs soon after, their faces dark. They were too exhausted to speak, each lost in thought, trying to figure out how to fix the disaster.
Marcelo, especially, felt a mix of anger and helplessness boiling inside him. He didn’t have the heart to comfort anyone–not after everything that had happened.
And now, to make things worse, Isabel had made up her mind to cut ties with him completely.
Her family didn’t want to push her too hard, so their engagement was officially over.
The Bluefields even tried to offer another daughter in her place, but Marcelo refused.
Out of all the Bluefield girls, Isabel was the only one he truly cared about–gentle, graceful, and well–educated, the kind of woman who spoke with quiet intelligence.
He had been planning how to win her back, but Gianna’s scandal erupted.
