Chapter 218 The Fallout

“Exactly! If you want to know who’s really telling the truth, the footage will make it obvious!”
The reporters were eating it up. The messier the drama, the better. They lived for this kind of chaos.
They started shouting over each other, demanding to see the surveillance for themselves.
Even Amelia, the one being accused, wants the footage shown. Does Gianna really not get what’s happening?
Or has she done something that makes her think she’s untouchable?
Marcelo didn’t want to check the footage at all, but with everyone insisting, refusing would only make him look suspicious.
In the end, he had no choice but to have the recording pulled up.
The moment the screen flickered on, it was clear the cameras had been working fine.
The footage wasn’t distorted or missing–everything was perfectly clear. Anyone could see exactly what went down.
What the hell?
Why didn’t the jammer work?
Gianna’s face went white, panic rising fast.
If it weren’t for the crowd and the cameras everywhere, she would’ve rushed over and deleted every bit of footage herself.
But she couldn’t–she was too sore from the fall, barely able to stand, and too terrified to move.
She could only stand there, watching the footage anxiously.
All she could do was pray that nothing too damning had been caught.
Marcelo wasn’t any calmer–he could practically feel disaster coming straight for him.
And sure enough…
A staff member called out, “Got it! This is the main part!”
Gianna’s heart nearly stopped. She knew if this video went public, her already fragile image

would be destroyed completely.
Marcelo felt the same dread, though he forced himself to look composed.
Sweat started to gather on his forehead despite his stiff expression.
“Come on, play it already!”
The reporters, thrilled at the thought of a scoop, crowded in close, waiting for the show.
The footage started rolling.
Marcelo and Gianna both held their breath, hoping for some miracle–or at least that it wouldn’t be as bad as they imagined.
But as the video played, Gianna’s face drained of all color.

The cameras had captured everything–her whole exchange with Amelia and Selena, every move, every glance.
The viewers could clearly see it. Gianna, after a tense back–and–forth, suddenly flung herself toward the stairs.
Everyone had assumed she’d been pushed. After all, she had indeed fallen.
But Amelia had reacted immediately, catching her just in time.
It couldn’t have been clearer–Amelia hadn’t pushed her at all.
The entire stunt had been Gianna’s doing, a full–on act.
And when she insisted on “falling” anyway, Amelia finally let her go.
Once the footage finished, there was no question who was at fault.
“Damn, this is like watching a soap opera! She’s been pretending to be an angel, but it turns out she’s a total snake! She really had me fooled!”
“I actually thought Amelia pushed her, but who’d guess she’d hurt herself just to frame someone else? That’s insane.”
“She’s seriously unhinged!”
The reporters murmured among themselves, shaking their heads. They felt that it was better to cross a bad guy than a scheming woman like this.
“Alright, that’s enough. This press conference is over! Since everyone’s seen the footage, you

can all leave!”

Marcelo immediately regretted ever allowing the video to be shown. Gianna’s image, already in shambles, was now completely annihilated.
“Ms. Gianna, can you explain why you’d set up your own sister like that?”
“So the truth is, you were jealous of Amelia and wanted to ruin her?”
“How could you go so far as to hurt yourself just to smear someone else? That’s seriously bold.”
By then, the ambulance had arrived. Gianna wanted nothing more than to disappear into the ground, away from every camera lens.
She couldn’t even face the reporters anymore.
The moment the stretcher appeared, she climbed on and had herself wheeled away without answering a single question.
Marcelo followed her silently into the ambulance, leaving the disaster behind.
And the real nightmare was only just beginning. Once those reporters got back to their offices, the fallout would be everywhere.
