The Heiress They Couldn’t Break
Chapter 250 Stop Hanging Out With Her

As soon as she passed by the window seats, Amelia saw the very person she least wanted to run
into.
Just my luck!
Amelia’s heart sank and her steps faltered.
Even though Vincent couldn’t really affect her anymore, she still had zero interest in dealing with him.
At the same time, Vincent happened to glance up, and he saw Amelia walking in at that exact
moment.
His earlier gloom vanished in an instant, replaced by a burst of excitement.
This must be fate.
He had come out with Marcelo for a random meal, and he’d picked a place she hardly ever visited. Even so, they still managed to run into each other!
Isabel picked up on Amelia’s mood right away. Following her line of sight, she saw someone she’d rather not see.
Marcelo’s mood had been gloomy, but spotting Isabel sent a jolt of excitement through him.
“Isabel, what a coincidence. Why don’t you come sit with us?”
But Isabel was no longer the gentle pushover she used to be. She didn’t even spare glance.

She tugged on Amelia’s arm and whispered, “Let’s just ignore them. I got us a nice window seat. Let’s go.”
Amelia nodded and walked off with her.
The two women didn’t give them the time of day, but Vincent and Marcelo weren’t about to give up so easily.
Unable to hold back, Marcelo followed them before Vincent could even speak.
He’d been reaching out to Isabel for a while now. He had tried practically everything–texts, calls, emails–but she hadn’t responded at all.
She ignored his messages, didn’t pick up, and wouldn’t see him in person.

Maybe childhood friends like Marcelo and Vincent really did share some strange kind of connection. Even the timing of their breakups seemed to line up.
Now the girls they used to ignore were the ones they couldn’t stop thinking about.
The worst part was, those girls just didn’t care anymore.
“What do you want to eat? It’s on me.”
Marcelo tried to just force his way in, practically sitting down without asking.
“Hey, hey, what do you think you’re doing? Don’t you have your own table? Who said you could sit here? Where are your manners? We’re not even close like that.”
Before Marcelo could take a seat, Isabel knocked on the back of a chair, making it clear he wasn’t welcome.
After she said that, she glanced at Amelia.
Amelia shot her a look of approval. Nice. That’s exactly what you should do.
Before she met Amelia, Isabel always held everything in. Even if she was upset or hurt, she’d never let it show.
The Bluefields had always taught her that a lady should never lose her temper or behave in a loud or aggressive way.
Before she met Amelia, Isabel really did follow those rules to the letter.
But it was suffocating. She felt like she didn’t even know who she was.
Ever since Amelia came into her life, Isabel felt so much happier. She could finally just be herself.
Gianna used to talk about her behind her back and say all kinds of nasty things, but Isabel never dared complain to Marcelo.
She worried it would make her look petty or jealous.
Now, she didn’t care at all. She could do what she liked, and it felt amazing.
Just a second ago, Marcelo had been ready to sit down, but now he stared at Isabel like he didn’t even recognize her.
Damn. I don’t even dare sit down anymore!

Vincem, who had followed Marcelo over and planned to sit down, froze as well.
What’s with women these days? Every one of them is more fiery than the last!

Isabel, do you really have to be so harsh? Even if we can’t be a couple, can’t we at least be friends?”
“Friends? We’re just strangers who happen to know each other. That’s all.”
She could have thrown in a “don’t flatter yourself,” but she held back.
After all, the Bluefields and Nygards were still on good terms.
Hearing her reply, Marcelo froze. Did she just say we are strangers?
It hurt more than if she’d actually called him an enemy.
“Don’t hang around Amelia too much. Sure, you can pick up her good habits, but don’t pick up her bad temper, okay?”
Seriously, stop hanging out with her!
Marcelo felt like his ex was a completely different person, all because of his own sister’s influence.
Marcelo wasn’t the same as before. He’d finally woken up and was thinking much more clearly now. Deep down, he still hoped to patch things up with Amelia.
He didn’t speak as harshly as he once had. The way he talked had softened, and he no longer pushed people into a corner with his words.
Isabel had changed as well. She wasn’t that gentle, people–pleasing girl she’d been anymore. Now, Isabel reminded him of a rose with thorns.
This new side of her just made him fall for her even harder. He simply couldn’t let her go.
