Chapter 280 The Hands–On Proof

Amelia didn’t feel much about all the professors and experts fawning over her, eager to learn.
She’d seen scenes like this countless times during the years she disappeared from the Nygard family, following her mentor on that remote island.
This was nothing new to her.
Her words carried so much credibility that everyone eagerly followed her lead.
“Seriously? Why does everyone trust her so easily?”
If Miguel hadn’t witnessed it with his own eyes, he never would have believed Amelia could command such respect.
He had only heard rumors before, but seeing it himself was completely different—and shocking.
Even though they were family, he had always thought her rise in the entertainment world was because of the Currans, especially with Jeremy backing her.
“Why don’t you just go and see for yourself instead of whining?”
Marcelo gave him a look full of meaning, then turned and joined the rest of the group heading
out.
Everyone moved toward the massive glass greenhouse.
Inside, rows of rare medicinal herbs grew–some so endangered they were nearly extinct.
Ordinary visitors weren’t allowed in here.
Now, Amelia was going to show everyone firsthand how to care for and cultivate these valuable plants.
She walked straight to a nearly wilted herb, crouched down, and examined it closely.
The professors and experts crowded around her, eyes fixed on her every move, waiting to see what she would do next.
Amelia gently picked up a nearby tool and started loosening the soil, adding fertilizer with careful precision, every motion practiced and deliberate.
“This herb is dying because its roots are damaged, and the soil isn’t rich enough,” she said calmly.

“The temperature and humidity here aren’t ideal, but the key issue is the fertilizer,” Amelia explained as she worked, her voice patient and sure.
When she was done, she took out a small bag of her own special fertilizer and handed it to the person in charge.
“I made this fertilizer specifically for these rare herbs. It will definitely boost their yield.
“The next harvest will be much better. Once you see the results, I’ll share the formula with the core team so they can produce it in bulk.”
Gianna, standing at the back, curled her lip in disdain. “She makes it sound so easy. Who knows if it’ll actually work?”
But Marcelo heard her.
Marcelo frowned. “Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean others can’t.”
Gianna’s face flushed red and white in embarrassment.
Was Marcelo really siding with Amelia against her now?
She couldn’t stand it.
Once this was over, she had to find a way to win Marcelo’s favor back.
Miguel felt bad watching Gianna get called out and unable to fight back.
“Marcelo, Gianna was just asking a question,” he said softly. “It’s not like she wants the Nygard Group to fail. You didn’t need to scold her in front of everyone.”
“Then take her aside and calm her down. Don’t get in the
way here.”
Marcelo thought sharing air with the clueless Miguel might make him dumber too,
“Come on, I’m your brother. Why are you roasting me too?” Miguel muttered in frustration.
Marcelo ignored him, thinking he was even more childish than Maxwell,
Meanwhile, Amelia finished tending to the herb. She stood up and brushed the dirt from her hands.
“Alright, let’s see how it recovers. Now, let’s check the others.”
Everyone followed Amelia to another plant.

This one looked healthy at first glance, but Amelia pointed out a hidden issue.
“Even though this herb seems fine, there are tiny pests on its leaves,” she said.

She leaned closer, her eyes narrowing. These little bugs only appeared on certain remote islands.
They were an invasive species.
Locally, it was rare for medicinal plants to get infested by them.
She frowned. That meant there really was a mole inside the Nygard Group.
And it wasn’t just any mole–it had to be someone high up.
Regular staff wouldn’t have access to such an important facility, much less be able to introduce foreign pests here.
“Yeah, a couple of years ago these bugs suddenly started appearing,” one of the researchers said.
“We tried getting rid of them, but normal pesticides don’t work, and they reproduce incredibly fast.
“Special formulas can kill them, but they also damage the herbs. We’ve been at a loss,” another added helplessly.
The experts and managers who followed Amelia watched as she spotted the problem in seconds, their respect for her deepening even further.
By now, they were completely convinced.
