Chapter Chapter 295 I Want to Join

“So, between me and those gigolos you picked, who’s better?”

“Huh?” Amelia blinked, totally thrown off.

He sounded dead serious. It didn’t sound

like a joke at all.

She honestly didn’t know how to answer. How was that a fair question anyway?

“Why would you even ask that?”

“Because you’d rather spend time with those guys than come to me. Are you saying I can’t compete with them?”

She was used to doing things her own way, never explaining herself to anyone.

Jeremy looked genuinely upset, like he’d been treated unfairly. It was almost funny.

Amelia couldn’t stop a small laugh, but her heart gave a weird flutter.

It felt like someone brushed a feather across her chest.

She blurted, “Why would you think that? Patience and Josie were just kidding. It didn’t mean anything.”

The moment the words left her mouth, she realized she was acting weird.

Why was she explaining herself to him? That wasn’t her style at all.

Maybe she actually cared about what he thought.

Jeremy raised an eyebrow, surprised she was even trying to clear things up.

“So, whose body is better–mine or those pretty boys‘?”

Amelia just stared at him.

Why was he coming up with those weird comparisons?

Wasn’t he supposed to be the cool, confident type?

And here he was comparing himself to a bunch of gigolos?

“Obviously, it’s you. You win–you’re better from head to toe, alright?”

Happy now?

Amelia was certain that if she didn’t give him a straight answer, he’d just keep throwing out more of those comparisons.

He was acting like a kid.

Jeremy’s grin spread wide.

That was hands down the best thing he’d heard all day. He loved it.

Feeling satisfied, he finally decided to move on.

“This whole rumor probably came from Gianna. I bet the entire Nygard family will hear about it soon.

“Don’t worry. I’ll handle it before it spreads.”

Her eyes widened at his words. He really had a sharp instinct for trouble.

He didn’t need her to explain anything–he already figured out Gianna was the one spreading rumors.

He’d probably shown up because of her nonsense.

“No need,” Amelia said coolly. “That kind of gossip can’t hurt me. I’ll just turn it around and throw it back at Gianna.”

Nothing made her happier than using someone’s own tricks against them. She was good at pretending not to know anything while quietly flipping the situation to her favor.

If someone wanted to play dirty, she’d just let them get caught in their own trap.

She was too lazy and had way too much going on.

No way was she going to waste her whole day figuring out how to deal with that idiot.

Spending energy on people who didn’t matter was pointless.

But if someone wanted to mess with her, she’d just turn things around and make them taste their own medicine.

“Fine then.”

If she didn’t want help, he wasn’t going to push it.

Jeremy knew her well enough. She liked handling her own payback. That was what made it fun for her.

Even so, he didn’t want her getting stressed over stupid gossip.

So, he decided he’d quietly take care of the rumors behind the scenes.

“By the way, I heard you’re the new spokesperson for Nygard Group, and you’re joining a variety show?”

“Yeah. I think Gianna is losing it over that, which explains why she’s acting crazy again.”

Amelia didn’t usually hide things from Jeremy.

There was a kind of trust between them, something she couldn’t really explain.

“Perfect timing. I’ve got nothing much going on lately–I want to join that show too. Mind showing me how it’s done?” Jeremy said it with that playful smile while driving.

Amelia was speechless.

Was the head of a huge company just claiming he had free time?

“Why do you even want to join a variety show? Isn’t it weird for a guy like you to be on TV?”

Those shows were usually just quick fame boosters for celebrities.

When did big CEOS start caring about that kind of stuff?

“Why not? Didn’t we make a movie together? We worked great as a team, and it’s still getting attention.

“We made a killing. You got famous, and I made money.”

“Yeah.” Amelia said with a nod.

She thought that little bit of money probably meant nothing to the Curran Group anyway.

“And besides, didn’t that CEO, Mr. Becker, become famous after doing a show with his wife?”
