The girl blurted out, “Oh, the adopted daughter from the Nygards? Yeah, I kinda remember you.”
The word “adopted” hit Gianna like a slap. She hated hearing it–it always made her blood boil.
Now, hearing it again with that condescending tone, her anger burned even hotter.
But she didn’t let it show. Instead, she smiled politely and said, “Yeah, that’s me. I have a sister named Amelia.”
“I know her. Isn’t she the one who disappeared for a few years, came back to the Nygards, and then stormed off again after a big fight?”
The girl’s voice dripped with judgment, her tone full of mockery when she mentioned Amelia’s
name.
Hearing Amelia get dragged like that actually made Gianna feel better.
Maybe she could get along with that girl.
“Yeah, my sister is always butting heads with the family. She hangs out with all kinds of shady people.
“She ran away from home, and no one could stop her. We called her, but she never came back.”
When it came to gossiping and stirring drama, Gianna knew exactly what she was doing.
That girl just snorted. “You’re no different from her.”
“Brielle, that’s enough.”
The voice came from Sabrina.
Her tone was calm but sharp. Brielle Jordan immediately went quiet.
“What? I’m not wrong,” Brielle muttered stubbornly. “There isn’t a single decent woman in the Nygards.
“Amelia is always flirting around, sticking close to Jeremy.
“He’s your fiancé, Sabrina. What gives her the right to flirt with him?”
Brielle’s words gave away more than she probably meant to.

“So Mr. Curran is your fiancé, Ms. Jordan?” Gianna asked, sounding surprised.

She’d heard the rumors that Sabrina and the Currans had a connection, maybe even an engagement, but it was never confirmed.
Now that it came straight from Brielle, it had to be true.
Since Brielle was Sabrina’s cousin, she’d definitely know.
So Jeremy did have a fiancée, which meant Amelia was completely out of the picture.
She was nothing more than a temporary fling–someone he’d eventually toss aside.
Gianna, on the other hand, was different. She was Vincent’s official fiancée, his future wife.
The thought made her feel instantly better about herself.
“Amelia has been spending a lot of time with Mr. Curran lately. They even filmed a movie together. Have you guys seen it?
“They had quite a few romantic scenes. I know it’s just acting, but people have been talking.”
She said it casually, then quickly added, “Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to imply anything. Just saying what’s out there.”
The girls in class weren’t naïve. They all came from powerful families and could read between the lines.
After she spoke, the room went quiet, the air turning slightly awkward. Everyone understood. the hint, but no one wanted to be the first to comment.
“If you didn’t mean anything by it, then why even bring it up? Don’t act like you’re the only one who knows the gossip.”
Brielle could see right through Gianna’s act when she talked about Jeremy, like she was someone classy and important.
Ugh, the Nygards–always stirring up drama!
Amelia is trying to steal Sabrina’s fiancé, and now this one is acting all innocent while throwing shade?
“I’m not defending my sister. I just feel bad for Ms. Jordan.
“Honestly, I think Ms. Jordan and Mr. Curran look great together.”
Gianna didn’t like Brielle’s attitude, but she knew better than to lose her temper.

“You guys probably haven’t heard, right? My sister is joining a variety show soon. When Mr. Curran found out, he signed up too.
“He’s the CEO of a massive company, and he’s doing all that just for her. I guess my sister really knows how to keep people hooked
She let her words trail off deliberately, and everyone caught the meaning behind them.
Sabrina was Jeremy’s fiancée. Whether it was for love or business, seeing him get close to another woman on TV had to sting.
At that moment, she was pouring wine with elegant skill, her eyes flickering for just a second with an emotion no one noticed.
“Jeremy is joining a variety show? That’s insane!” Brielle exclaimed.
Then, she turned to Sabrina. “Should we tell his grandma? Maybe she can knock some sense
into him.”
“There’s no need,” Sabrina said evenly. “He can do whatever he wants. That’s his decision.”
“But this is different! He’s only doing it because of that woman! What’ll people think when they find out? How are you supposed to hold your position as his fiancée?”
“I’m not upset, so why are you the one losing your mind?” Sabrina said, feeling a bit amused.
