The Heiress's Second Chance At Vengeance (Eliza) novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136 One Room, One Stage, Two Enemies

Before Nolan left with Tyson last time, Eliza had managed to fix Nolan’s bad habit of skipping meals.

She didn’t expect that after just one month apart, he’d gone right back to his old ways.

The SAT is tomorrow. If you eat too much late at night, you’ll get indigestion. Why don’t we have dinner together?

Hearing that, Nolan pretended to hesitate. Won’t I be bothering you?

If it’s inconvenient, forget it. I just don’t want you eating irregularly. Your stomach problems are probably from that.

The moment the words left her mouth-

A door opened down the hallway.

Zayden stepped out of his suite.

The three of them locked eyes. The air itself seemed to freeze.

There were only a few suites in this hotel, all located on the third floor.

Grace had likely booked the best room available for her son, hoping a good night’s rest would help him perform well on the SAT.

Nolan hadn’t originally planned to go inhe still had things to take care ofbut the moment he saw Zayden walk out of the room next door, he changed his mind.

All right. Let’s have dinner together.”

With that, Nolan stepped directly into Eliza’s room.

Zayden looked like he wanted to say something, but when he saw Nolan walk in, the words stuck in his throat.

Zayden! You still have money for a hotel suite?! When are you going to return our money?! Say something!

Evelyn had just brought Naomi upstairs.

And the first thing she saw was Zayden standing in the hallway on the third floor.

A cleaning staff member rushed over to stop her from making a scene. Ma’am, we don’t allow loud noise in this area. Please lower your voice. You’re disturbing the other guests.”

Evelyn didn’t care about the other guests.

All she wanted to know was where her money had gonewhat the Holt mother and son had done with it.

Zayden

Naomi stood frozen, her face pale.

Zayden had vanished for over half a month. She didn’t expect to see him here of all places.

Not wanting to deal with them, Zayden turned and shut the door.

Evelyn pounded furiously on his door. Zayden, stop pretending you can’t hear me! You can afford a suite, so your mom must still have money, right? Is she using our money to live it up out here? Do you know I had to sell two apartments to scrape together that eighty million?! Open up! Come out!

Those two apartments had been part of Naomi’s dowry. And even then, they’d only gotten twenty million in total.

It wasn’t nearly enough to plug the hole the Rivers family was in now.

Evelyn was on the brink of losing her mind. If she hadn’t lost all contact with Grace, she never would’ve sold her private assets.

Ma’am! If you keep shouting, I’ll have to call security!

Everyone staying here was taking the SAT. If Evelyn’s shouting ruined their rest, the hotel’s reputation would go up in flames.

Mom, stop it. We’ll deal with them after the SAT!

Naomi quickly grabbed Evelyn and pulled her back.

Evelyn took a deep breath, finally calming down.

Right. The SAT came first.

Once it was over, she’d make the Holt family pay.

Next door.

Eliza sat silently, listening to the commotion. Her eyes grew darker.

Noticing where her mind was, Nolan said calmly, If you’re that curious, just go out and take a look.

I’m not curious. I’m just disappointed I didn’t get to watch him fall apart.

She had come back to life for this very reasonto witness Zayden and the Holt family crash and burn.

Now that they’d fallen, she was thrilled.

The only regret was that she hadn’t been the one to bring them down herself.

Without her own hand in it, the satisfaction was cut in half.

So you’re upset they didn’t fall hard enough. I thought you were worried Zayden couldn’t handle it.
