Lewis furrowed his brows, clearly at a loss for words.

For some reason, he suddenly lost his appetite.

Eliza herself was getting goosebumps all over.

There’s nothing. What would we be hiding?” Eliza mumbled while chewing. “It just feels more casual to say ‘Eliza. You guys can call me that too.”

Looking up, he locked eyes with Nolan.

Lewis cleared his throat and shifted instantly, “I’ll stick with Elizze. It rolls off the tongue better anyway.”

“Elizze is my nickname for her. Don’t copy me,” Henry protested from the side.

Colton had never found these two as annoying as he did now.

It was just a name–why were they making such a big deal?

Naomi held her lunchbox and stared across the room at Eliza, laughing and chatting with the four most influential students in Class 6.

She bit her lip.

Naomi gathered herself and walked over to them.

“Eliza, so you’re here. I’ve been looking for you.”

Without waiting for permission, Naomi sat down beside her–completely ignoring the others‘ expressions.

Naomi intentionally sat next to Nolan and said, “Were you guys telling jokes earlier? Can I hear one too?”

Naomi always had a sweet face, and now she looked like a perfect girl–next–door, gazing admiringly at the guys across from her.

Henry had never liked Naomi. Colton couldn’t care less about anyone from Class 1.

Lewis was always quiet anyway, and now none of them responded.

They all knew exactly what Naomi had done before.

An awkward silence settled in the air.

Naomi looked helplessly at Eliza, who was also seated beside Nolan. “Eliza, did I do something wrong? It feels like no one likes me anymore…”

Eliza answered slowly and calmly, “Yeah, that’s about right.”

Naomi had expected Eliza to keep up appearances for the sake of the group.

But Eliza didn’t even pretend.

The expression on Naomi’s face froze.

“So annoying. I was actually hungry, and now someone just had to come ruin the mood.”

Henry put down his fork and said to Eliza, “Elizze, let’s go eat somewhere else. This place is cursed.”

“Sure.”

Eliza stood up without hesitation.

Nolan immediately picked up her lunchbox for her.

Lewis added casually, “Too bad. Rare to get a window seat. What a waste.”
