Chapter 149 Not a Rivers
“Don’t be so hostile toward me. I’m only doing this to help you, Ms. Rivers.”
Tyson smiled calmly. “There are two paths in front of you–studying abroad, or staying at Claire University. With help from the Hayes family, getting into Claire University wouldn’t be hard at all.”
“And what if I say no?”
As soon as Eliza said that, Tyson lifted his hand.
A water glass tipped over on the table. Water spilled everywhere.
He was still smiling, but there was no warmth in his eyes.
“Ms. Rivers is a smart girl. I think you know exactly what I mean.”
“You mean, if I don’t agree, I can forget about going to Claire University?”
“That’s right.”
Tyson continued, “You’re a smart girl. So will you work with me, or-”
Before he could finish, Eliza grabbed the glass in front of her and splashed water directly onto Tyson’s face.
Even the bodyguards nearby were stunned.
Tyson’s face still held that same faint smile, but now he was completely drenched.
“If I’m not mistaken, this old man must be what–twenty–three, twenty–four? Tch. Already that age and you’re out here threatening a high schooler? Picking on someone younger? That’s real classy.”
“Old man…”
Tyson’s face darkened.
He was already an “old man” at twenty–three or twenty–four?
The bodyguards didn’t dare say a word. One wrong comment now, and they might not walk out of here alive.
“Am I wrong? You want to use me for your own ends? Sorry, I’m not interested.”
Eliza stood up and gestured to the door.
“This way, Mr. Tyson.”
“Ms. Rivers, I hope you’ll think seriously about what I said. I’m not joking with you.”
Tyson stood, his expression cold.

At the door, his face grew even darker.
“Old man? You think I’m old?”
“…No, Mr. Tyson. Not at all.”
If you’re not old, who is?
“What a joke,” Eliza muttered.
Showing up early in the morning just to get on her nerves. No wonder Nolan didn’t like this uncle of his.
If she were Nolan, she wouldn’t like him either.
Ding ding-
Her phone buzzed again with a call from an unfamiliar number.
Eliza frowned and answered.
“Hello? Who is this?”
“Hi, is this Eliza?”
“Speaking.”
“This is the admissions office of Claire University. Congratulations—you’ve been accepted. Your official offer letter will be sent in the next few days, so please keep an eye out for it.”
Accepted?
Eliza froze.
Wait–didn’t that jerk Tyson just say…
He said if she didn’t cooperate, she’d never make it into Claire University.
No, technically, she said that.
But that was what he meant.
A flood of thoughts swirled through her head.
“Hello? Are you still there?”
“…Yes.”
Eliza responded, but quickly followed with a question.
“Don’t students need to complete a survey or something before being accepted?”
“Ms. Rivers, your company has made a net profit of one billion in the past six months. That qualifies you for direct admission, so you don’t need to fill out the survey.”

Chapter 149 Not a Rivers
As soon as she heard that, a cold sweat broke out down her back.
She’d never revealed her identity in public. How did Claire University know she owned a company?
Finished
After hanging up, Eliza immediately pulled up every piece of information she could find about Claire University online.
In her last life, she only knew that Claire University was the crown jewel of the finance world–only open to heirs of high society.
She’d researched every rule about getting in.
But she’d never found out who actually owned the place.
Still, with a prestigious private institution like that, it was obvious the owner wasn’t some ordinary person.
