Chapter 310 Underneath the Surface
Eliza had been thinking the same thing. She asked, “Don’t you guys use prosthetics in film? Like ones you stick on the face so you can’t tell it’s fake?”
“Yeah,” Soren replied. “Sometimes we need to age a character or create effects. We’ll lay a layer of gauze on the face, then coat it with liquid plaster. Once it sets, we paint over it. But looks like that are super obvious in real life.”
He paused, then added, “Actually… maybe not always.”
“What do you mean?”
“There’s this new product overseas–synthetic bio–skin. It’s used a lot in film and photography. Basically, it’s designed to hide facial flaws.”
Synthetic bio–skin….
Eliza mulled it over. “Can you buy it in this country?”
“Probably not,” Soren said, shaking his head. “It hasn’t caught on here yet, so it’s not widely distributed. And there’s a major downside–it doesn’t breathe. It’s artificial, after all. Once you apply it, your skin can’t breathe at all. That’s why local celebrities don’t use it. They care too much about skin maintenance.”
Eliza thought it through.
So the product did exist–but it wasn’t common here.
Was that what Naomi had used? Is that why her face looked flawless, with no signs of injury?
“What’s up?” Soren asked. “Why bring this up out of nowhere?”
“No reason,” Eliza replied casually. “Just a random question.”
Seeing she didn’t want to say more, Soren let it drop.
“If you want to see some synthetic skin for yourself, I can help you get some.”
“Seriously?”
“It’s no big deal. If you need it, I’ll have someone get it. Give me three days, tops.”
“You don’t have to go through the trouble. I just need a small piece.”
Soren smiled. “You helped me before. No need to be polite. I’ll message my agent now and have them pick some up overseas.”
“Thanks. I’ll pay you back when it arrives.”
“No need. I’ve got it covered.”
He stood up and asked, “The festival’s about to start. Are you… coming tonight?”
Eliza hadn’t planned on it, but since Soren was going out of his way to get her the synthetic skin, skipping the event would’ve felt ungrateful.

She nodded. “Alright. I’ll come see your performance.”
Soren gave her a subtle smile.
Later that afternoon.
Soren arranged for Eliza to sit in the front row of the auditorium.
Half the audience consisted of Soren’s female fans. Most of the guys only came because their girlfriends dragged them along.
Eliza’s seat was front and center, right next to the school administrators.
Most of the performances were from sophomores and juniors. A few freshmen participated, but their acts lacked polish and didn’t leave much of an impression.
Then the lights dimmed.
As soon as Soren’s silhouette appeared, the room erupted with screams.
He was a true A–lister. No male celebrity had matched his fame in the last ten years.
Soren stepped onto the stage and performed his signature hit, KISS.
The venue went wild.
When the song ended, Soren casually pointed in Eliza’s direction–then mimed a finger–gun and fired with a smirk.
Eliza found it a little over–the–top.
But somehow, on Soren, it didn’t come off as cheesy–it was effortlessly cool..
After the performances, the university president took the stage to give a speech.
It was less of a speech and more of a thank–you list–for sponsors, investors, and alumni who had shown up just to donate money.
Eliza had only come because of Soren. But when the president thanked the investors, she looked up-
