The girls surrounding Naomi looked at her with eager curiosity.

He looked so young, yet drove a Ferrari and was followed by suited bodyguards.

Naomi didn’t know what to say, but Scarlett deliberately chimed in just as Zayden entered the classroom, “Naomi, is he a friend of yours? Is he here for you?”

Almost reflexively, Naomi blurted out, “Yeah!”

The second she said it, she regretted it.

She remembered how Tyson had coldly kicked her out of the meeting room the day before. She didn’t even know his full name.

But it was too late. The girls around her lit up instantly.

“Naomi, seriously?”

“You really know that man who just walked into the building?”

“Oh my God, can you introduce us?”

“Yeah! How could you keep someone like that a secret from us?”

Naomi was quickly surrounded by the girls from Class One, and her face turned pale.

It had been a reflex–just another harmless lie to save face. But now she had no idea how to backpedal.

“N–No, listen… his identity is confidential!” she stammered. “He… his last name is Xiao. He’s a CEO. Super busy. Doesn’t socialize casually.”

She spouted the lie effortlessly, hoping the subject would shift before she got caught.

“Ah, that makes sense,” one girl sighed. “I figured someone like him wouldn’t be easy to meet.”

But Scarlett wasn’t done. She had never liked Naomi.

“You just said he’s your friend. If that’s true, why not call him over so we can all meet him?”

“I don’t like to pressure people. He came here for business,” Naomi replied quickly. “Besides, he’s way older than you guys. Even I call him ‘big brother“.”

She didn’t notice that Zayden was standing right behind her.

Startled, Naomi turned and saw Zayden staring down at her.

Zayden had already walked toward the door, and she had no choice but to follow.

“The man you’re talking about is Nolan’s uncle, Tyson. You’re in way over your head. If he finds out you’ve been spreading nonsense about him, the consequences won’t be pretty.”

Naomi turned white as a sheet.

She didn’t know much about the business world, but even she had heard of him.

He was a legend–one of the brightest minds in the industry. Even the most powerful elites treated him with respect.

“Naomi,” Zayden said coldly, “I think we should call off the engagement.”

Naomi froze. “Call off the engagement?”

“Yes. It’s my decision. I’ll speak to your parents personally.”

Ever since Naomi’s mother had gone to prison, Grace had grown increasingly dissatisfied with Naomi as her future daughter–in–law.

And now, after offending the Foster family, the Rivers family was unlikely to have a bright future.
