The Indifferent Ex-Husband Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate (Brandon and Sophia) novel Chapter 723

Theresa noticed that Sophia seemed a bit down, and she couldn't help but try to cheer her up. "Mom, don't be sad. When I grow up and start earning money, I'll take you to visit Grandma."

Brandon chuckled, ruffling her hair. "You don't have to wait until you're grown, sweetheart. Dad's got enough to take Mom to see anyone she wants."

Sophia smiled and gave Theresa's head a gentle pat. "Thank you, Theresa."

Their friend, Harvey Ferber, was there to see them off and watched the little family with a warm smile. He turned to Brandon. "Mr. Crawley, you've shown your sincerity. Now, it's up to you."

Sophia was puzzled and looked at Brandon. "Sincerity about what?"

"The sincerity for collaboration," Brandon replied at the same time as Harvey, the two of them exchanging a quick glance.

Sophia found the exchange a bit odd but couldn't quite put her finger on why. She wasn't familiar with the undercurrents of their negotiations or the nature of their relationship. But the two men seemed to share a camaraderie, like two knights recognizing each other's valor.

Brandon had mentioned a potential partnership to her before, something about the docks. She didn't know much about business, but she trusted Brandon's instincts and the scale of Starlight Group. She nodded slightly, still a bit confused. "Oh."

With their business settled, Harvey didn't see the need to linger. He checked his watch. "I've got to run. We’ll catch up later."

Brandon nodded. "Safe travels, Mr. Ferber."

Harvey nodded back, casting a quick glance at Sophia before turning to Brandon, half-serious, half-joking. "Mr. Crawley, though my sisterly bond with her is a recent development, I consider myself part of her family. I don't know your history with her, but if I find out you’ve wronged her, I won't stand idly by."

Sophia was taken aback by his words.

Brandon met his gaze, calm and steady. "Rest assured, Mr. Ferber, that won’t happen."

Harvey smiled, then turned to Sophia. "Take care of yourself. If you need anything, you know where to find me."

With that, he gave her a friendly pat on the shoulder, like an older brother, and walked away.
