The Indifferent Ex-Husband Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate (Brandon and Sophia) novel Chapter 729

The annual party was buzzing with people dressed to the nines, all in various evening gowns and tuxedos.

Sophia's outfit was more on the understated side, but it was still a dress, so she didn't stand out too much in the crowd.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Sophia quickly embraced the scene.

Brandon had just made it to the entrance of the ballroom when he was caught by some guests, eager to chat him up.

Sophia was walking a little behind him, holding Theresa’s hand.

Not wanting to draw too much attention by entering the ballroom with Brandon, she decided it would be less conspicuous if she walked in with Theresa herself. Brandon, meanwhile, was on a call and walked a bit faster than them. Just as he turned around to look for them, he got intercepted by a group of attendees who surrounded him with a cheerful "Mr. Crawley!" He didn’t even notice Sophia and Theresa trailing slightly behind.

Sophia appreciated this moment of anonymity. She caught Brandon's eye through the throng of people and gestured toward the ballroom, leading Theresa past the circle of guests and into the party.

Kent was inside, greeting everyone. When he saw Sophia and Theresa approaching, he grinned and said, "Ms. Yearwood, you made it! Where’s Mr. Crawley?"

Sophia pointed toward the entrance where Brandon was. "He’s outside."

Kent glanced toward the door and visibly relaxed, smiling at Sophia. "Thanks for bringing Theresa along."

"No problem, happy to help," Sophia replied with a smile before glancing at him and asking, "So, what’s going on with you and Susan?"

Kent kept his genial smile intact. "Oh, nothing much. We’re doing great."

Sophia chuckled softly. "Really? I thought you might’ve had a falling out. Guess I was wrong."

"Nope, nothing like that," Kent assured her, gesturing toward the buffet area. "There’s a selection of food over there, with a spot for kids. Everything’s made with fresh ingredients, no additives. You can let Theresa enjoy without worry."

It was clear he wasn’t keen on discussing Susan further.

Sophia nodded, "Thanks, Kent."

As she was about to lead Theresa away, she paused, turned back, and whispered to Kent, "Susan’s a great catch—beautiful and charming. Plenty of people are interested in her, some real high-flyers. If you like her, maybe you should make a move before it’s too late."

Kent just smiled softly. "Then please, wish her well for me."
