Mated to Two Bad Boy Alphas
Chapter 220 – Packing
–LIA’S POV–

The duffel bag on my bed was already half full, but it still felt like I hadn’t packed anything important yet. Clothes, shoes, mý hair straightener—it all felt so useless when my chest was this heavy.
Zane sat cross–legged beside me, folding my hoodies like he lived here. Like he’d always been part of this room. And in some way, he had. From sneaking in through my window to late–night phone calls, he was stitched into every part of my life now. But still… this wasn’t easy.
My parents were in the kitchen, trying their best not to cry. I could hear the clink of mugs and the soft hum of Mom’s voice—probably asking Dad if he wanted tea again, even though he’d already said no.
I sighed and sat beside Zane, letting my head drop onto his
shoulder.
He glanced down, his voice gentle. “Still feeling it?”
“Yeah,” I muttered. “It’s like my body’s on fire one second and freezing the next.”
“It’ll pass in a couple days,” he said. “You’re still coming down from it. Your heat cycle wasn’t exactly normal.”

He kissed the top of my head. “I like that about you.”

I stared at my open closet, my throat tightening. “They’re really sad. I can feel it. Dad looked like he was about to cry any.
second.”
Zane wrapped his arms around me, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. He didn’t say anything for a while. He just let me sit there, breathing him in. His scent had become so familiar, comforting, it felt like wrapping myself in a blanket.

“I think they feel like I’m choosing you over them,” I said quietly. “They think it’s because they’re not my real parents. That I’m leaving them because we’re not actually related. They’re my parents, Zane.”
Zane tilted my chin up, so I was looking at him. “They are, love. And they always will be. You’re not leaving them. You’re doing this for them too. If they find out what you are, it won’t be good for them. The less they know, the safer they are. You know that, right?”
I nodded. “I know,” I said softly. “I know you’re right. But it doesn’t make this any easier.”
“I understand, my love. But know this: they’ll never stop loving you. You’re their daughter, Lia. You’re not abandoning them,

we’ll keep visiting. And by doing this, you’re protecting them.”
I swallowed, trying not to cry. “Then why does it feel like I’m saying goodbye forever?”
“Because growing up sucks.” Zane smiled softly, wiping his, thumb under my eye. “But I’ll be with you every step of the way. You’re also feeling down because you’re in heat.”
I let out a breath and stood up again. “Okay. Come help me finish.”
He stood up as well, grinned, then walked towards the drawer I’d told him not to touch.
My eyes widened. It was my underwear drawer.
“Don’t you dare–”
Too late. He already had a red lacy one dangling from his finger. “Well, well, well. What do we have here?”
“Zane!”
“I didn’t know you owned these,” he said, wide–eyed, before slipping it on his head like a hat. “Queen Lia. Luna of Lace.”
I threw a pillow at him and burst out laughing. “You are an idiot.”

“An idiot who looks great in red.”
“You look ridiculous.”
“You’re just jealous I pull it off better than you do.”
I snorted, grabbing the bra back. “Give me that before walks in and dies of cardiac arrest.

“Totally worth it. I’m not done yet.” He searched through the drawer, in spite of my objections, holding me back with one hand and grabbing one of my panties with the other. “Oh my goodness,” he grinned, narrowing his eyes at it.
“Zane,” I laughed, trying to grab it.
He raised it above his head, where I was unable to reach it.
“Black, silk. Sexy. Put it on, show me how it looks, Lia.”
“No,” I chuckled, shooting him a playful glare. “Give it back to me. Good doggy. Drop it.”
Zane cocked up an eyebrow, lowering the bra. “What did you call me?”
“Exactly what you are.”
Zane let out a growl and tackled me to the bed, making me squeal.

“You’re about to find out,” he said dangerously, taking my wrists and pinning them on either side of me.
“Zane, my parents are downstairs,” I whispered.
“Woof,” he replied, before attacking my face with wet, sloppy kisses and licking it all over.

I laughed until my stomach hurt, writhing and squealing to get away from his mouth.
“Woof woof,” he said again, before pressing his lips against
mine.
I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck as soon as he released them.
Zane pulled away a moment later, staring down at me with his clear blue eyes.
“Am I your favourite puppy in the world?”
I shook my head, grinning at him. “How did I even get so lucky to have you?”
He propped himself up. “I ask myself the same thing. Then I remember I saved you like, five times.”
