Chapter 222 – Room
–LIA’S POV–

The day went by better than I’d imagined.
One by one, all pack members came up to me and Zane like we were royalty—hugging us, congratulating us, offering gifts and food like we were already family. I still didn’t understand how they’d accepted me so fast. But they had.
And now, Zane was leading me upstairs, all the way to the top storey of the pack house.
I hadn’t even known there was a top storey.
“Close your eyes,” he said, grinning.
I rolled mine but did it anyway, letting him guide me up the steps, his hand on my lower back.
When he finally stopped walking, he leaned in close and whispered, “Okay. Look.”
I opened my eyes, and froze.
え
The ceiling above us was entirely glass. Moonlight poured through it, silver and soft, painting the room in a faint, dreamy glow. The stars were so close it felt like I could reach out and touch them. The walls were dark wood, polished and clean, with

floor–to–ceiling bookshelves on one side and soft grey curtains pulled back on the other, revealing a view of the forest. A huge bed sat in the middle, covered in white sheets and navy pillows.
Everything smelled like him. The scent I called comfort.
“Zane,” I breathed. “You did all this… overnight?”
He chuckled and shook his head. “No. This room’s always been ready. Just waiting for us to move in.”
I gaped at him.
“I had it set up the day I knew you were my mate,” he said simply.
It shouldn’t have surprised me. But it did.
My heart warmed.
He kissed my forehead, then tugged my hand. “Come on. There’s more.”
The bathroom was next—massive and bright, with a marble floor and white lights along the ceiling. There was a glass shower in one corner and a giant jacuzzi tub in the other, filled with glistening water that smelled like lavender.
“This is a spa, not a bathroom,” I stated.

Zane laughed. “Wait till you see the closet.”
He wasn’t kidding.

The walk–in closet was almost the size of my old bedroom. Lined with open shelves, drawers, racks, and full–length mirrors. One side had dresses and jackets and boots, the other was filled with jewellery boxes, heels, and… stuff I didn’t even know how to
wear.
I stared. Then turned to him. “How the hell did you manage all
this?”

Zane looked smug. “Werewolves are rich. Especially alphas.”
“Still–”
“I’ve got contacts. Besides, the closet is from one of the pack members. A tribute.”
“A tribute?”
He looked at me. “To the Moonborn Goddess.”
キ
Something shimmered through me—not emotion, not nerves.
Power.
It hummed beneath my skin, and then my eyes flashed purple.

I looked down, embarrassed. “Sorry.”

Zane only stepped closer. “Don’t be. That’s part of who you are
now.”
I nodded, swallowing.
He tilted his head, watching me for a second before saying, “Do you want to practise?”
“Practise what?”
“Turning. You’ve done it once. That means you can probably do it again—at will. Like I can.”
“Now?”
He stepped closer, hands at my waist. “I was thinking… maybe if you can grow your canines, you could…” he trailed off, eyes lowering to my neck.
Heat rose to my face. “Mark you?” I whispered.
Zane smirked, nodding.
I swallowed. “I don’t know if I can.”
“You can.”
He was so close I could feel his heartbeat. Or maybe it was mine.

“Alright,” I muttered. “Just—look away if I grow a tail or something.”
Zane laughed, and stepped away. “Go on.”

I closed my eyes, trying to picture it happen. Imagining my claws growing, my body changing.
