The Lycan King and his Dark Temptation (Valeria) novel Chapter 353

NARRATOR

Now that the heat had passed, she wondered if this impulsive decision was the right one.

I mean, Lavinia seemed like a good person, but she was a sorceress, and she didn’t have a great opinion of that race.

At least not of the mages who lived on this continent, though Theron came from somewhere else.

Her muzzle lifted toward the hole where the sunbeams came in.

What if she later wanted to return and couldn’t? Would they really accept her in a world where beast-men were rare?

Suddenly, a soft lick landed on her little nose and her eyes met the wolfish ones of her mate.

“Don’t be afraid, Zera… don’t get nervous. I’m going to take care of you, my love, and no one is going to treat you badly.”

The lioness’s soul filled with warmth and she nodded, already thinking about how to reveal the truth to Theron later.

It was impossible to hide her identity; running into Aidan’s mate and the winter prince would be enough to recognize her.

As Theron stepped toward the magic passage that led to his lands, Zeraphina said goodbye to her continent, one she wouldn’t return to for quite a while.

And honestly, she wouldn’t miss it much.

“Lavi, why aren’t you coming with us?” At the threshold, about to be swallowed up, Theron asked his sister.

Lavinia had stayed behind them, standing still without advancing.

“I’ll go later. I’m meeting Laziel at Victoria’s stronghold. We need to wrap up the business with the cursed tree. Don’t worry, I’ll be back today for the dinner Mom is making for your mate.”

Theron snorted. Those two made the bed for him and he went straight to lie in it… fortunately.

“I see I was very predictable to you both. Don’t be long.” Theron’s gruff growl vanished into the vortex.

Zera had also said goodbye to her sister-in-law, who stayed staring into nothing with a sideways smile.

“How fast my twins grew up,” the sorceress sighed, moving her hands and changing the seals to modify the passage.

“You owe me.” Electra’s voice spoke in her mind, and Lavinia rolled her eyes.

“You’re still a petty witch,” she muttered with a huff.

Honestly, they’d only bet on how long it would take Theron to get tangled up in love’s nets.

Lavinia had thought the lioness would resist more, but things moved at a dizzying pace.

“I can hear you, Lavinia. Tell me if you want me to start singing again at your next indecent meeting with that Nocturne.”

Lavinia shivered, remembering Electra’s heifer-style opera, done just to annoy her.

“No, no, please, I’m still figuring out how to remove my ears,” she got chills as she stepped through her own portal.

“Electra, leave our poor mage alone,” César’s soothing voice always came to tame the De La Croix tigress and carry her off with him.

Thank all the heavens for his presence. Only he could completely rein in Electra.

At least everyone had made peace and were happy as clams.

And speaking of happiness, Lavinia set foot in one of the inner courtyards of Lord Wolf Drakomir’s massive fortress.

The training fields were already full of warriors at their drills.

Servants bustled back and forth, setting the table for breakfast and tending to any need of the distinguished family.

Life across the wide unified continent was waking up.

The only ones still lazing in bed were the monarchs of these lands.
