Duncan paced his room, thinking of several ways to tell Lucas abo Arianna’s identity. He knew Lucas wouldn’t take the news lightly–especially when he knew about the plans Duncan had for arianna.

“No,” Duncan cut in sharply. “I’ll send one of the Nobles. If they don’t accept that, then they can come themselves.”

“They solved the mystery we’ve been trying to track for over many months now. They’ve caught the leader, Duncan. I have to be there.”

Duncan cast him a worried look.

“I know what you’re thinking, dear friend, but I’ll be fine. He knows you can’t leave the Citadel. He wants me to come… but I’ll be fine.” Lucas stepped forward and handed the scroll to Duncan.

Duncan read the contents and nearly sneered. “So full of himself. That bastard,” he muttered, rolling the scroll back up. “He didn’t even show up for the Grand Festival, and now just because he did this, he’s acting all high and mighty. Who knows- maybe this fool is the rogue leader himself.”

Lucas sighed, understanding Duncan’s frustration. “My transportation is being prepared. I’ll leave very soon. You have things to take care of, and I’ll be back before you know it.”

Duncan sighed, his expression tight with worry.

“I’ll be fine,” Lucas assured him again, tapping his friend’s shoulder gently.

Duncan stepped closer. “I need to talk to you about something important, but… that can wait until you return.”

Lucas nodded. “Aren’t you going to give your friend a hug?”

Duncan chuckled and stepped forward to hug him. “Hey… don’t hesitate to tell me if something goes wrong, alright?”

“I’m not a kid,” Lucas retorted.

“Fuck you. You’re the one who asked for a hug,” Duncan mumbled

“As of this moment, Lady Arianna Greystone, you are freed from any status of servitude. Your name shall be restored among the noble ranks, and you will be compensated for your suffering. As for those responsible… Justice will be delivered.”

Finally hearing the declaration, Arianna heart swell as she stood before the court.

Her gaze met with King who gave her a rare smile Selene was around the corner with her sister, but had a proud smile on their face.

Same night, after finishing up the day’s work Duncan head to his chamber and the first scent he caught was Ariannia’s. Stronger now, and it awoken his senses. He was going to see her tight anyway.

“Make sure you let me know once Lucas gets to his destination.”
