It was an advantage for the Ouroboros; they knew the forest better Poison and fire were shot, and the werewolves were caught off guard by their strength and strategy.

Having survived years of harshness in the realm, the Ouroboros ha survival instincts and dangerous determination, making

them hard to overcome.

Blood soaked the earth. The air cried out with fire.

Eryz was brutal with his combat force. Even though the wolves were trained, it was a bit surprising that everything was in their favor, but Eryz wasn’t putting his hopes high.

Meanwhile, Falcon explained all that had happened the night of Mearina’s betrayal.

The brute werewolves sent to kill the Beta and burn him down had to face him. That night, Falcon lost his sanity, allowing his attack wolf instinct to kick in.

He faced the seven soldiers. All Lycans. He knew he had no chance, but he still fought them. The body fight was vicious. Falcon did his best, but an Alpha rank was still below a Lycan. Even though he managed to injure them, they nearly killed him. He was bleeding all over, limbs broken and nearly torn apart. Barely hanging onto his life, he grabbed one of the soldierslegs— the one who seemed to be the leader.

Pleasedon’tdon’t kill himI beg you. He is already dyingCan you let him do that in peace? You’ve killed his mate alreadyplease.

The leader stared at him with an unreadable look for a long while.

Falcon thought it was the end for both of them, but-

Fine. You’re going to die anyway, so is the Beta, the soldier said, then left with the others.

Falcon struggled to crawl back to where Lucas lay unconscious. The Beta’s heartbeat was still slowing down. There he lay, bleeding and barely hanging onto his life until the Ouroboros found him.

Feed and treat him.Zav was one of them, and then he made a deal to help them with his creativity if they took him and his

master along.

“That was how we got here,Falcon finished narrating.

Lylah stood still, a breath lodged in her throat as her mind reeled from everything Falcon just told her.

She had mourned Lucas. Swallowed the pain, buried it. Now, the grave she dug in her heart had cracked open, raw and bleeding again.

I was planning to come to the moon realm. At least to find a way to get you out of there, but the Ouroboros beat me to itthey are good people,Falcon muttered. And I owe them a lot.

Sowhere is he? Is hestill alive? Her voice came out hoarse.

Falcon sighed, lowering his gaze for a moment. The look on his face made Lylah’s blood pump with anxiety.

It’s time!Zav rushed to inform them in haste.

I’ll take you to him after the war. For now, let’s focus on helping the Ouroboros,Falcon assured and left before she could

Lylah stayed for a moment, catching her breath. They had all been here the whole time?

Arianna, Falcon, andLucas.

Letting out a shaky breath, she went to join the others.

The Dragon realm was blessed with many mountains, best as defense. These mountains had been used as dragon shelters centuries ago, and the biggest of them all was the one Arianna wasin.

Lylah could see the mountain, even though it was far away. Disappointment washed over her as she recalled how she failed to wake her up.

She just hoped they would win this.

The moon realm’s cries of war echoed as they approached. They didn’t come to talk; they came to invade and destroy.

Most of them had shifted, their paws slamming onto the ground with intense force and speed.

The Archer Ouroboros at the mountain drew their bows and shot at them; arrows poured from the sky. Some dodged, and some weren’t so lucky.

Behind the wolves were archers, who shot theirs too.

The Ouroboros used their shields made of dragon bone to block the arrows; the curve of the shields made it hard for any to flick through.

The way the werewolves were ragingly approaching made some of the Ouroboros shift with a hint of fear, but they had sworn to protect this realm. It was their chance.

The werewolves burst in, claws and blades flashing in the air.

There were hidden lit torches serving as the source of fire control.

One of the wolves pounced onto an Ouroboros, tearing his head off while at the same time, an Ouroboros slashed another’s throat with his blade, then burst fire onto yet another.

They won’t hold them off for long. Is the second line ready?Drakora’s voice sounded hasty.

They’re holding,Eryz called back, blood already on his hands. But barely.

More wolves tore through the first line, some falling to the traps laid undergroundsharpened spears laced with slowburning venombut many surged forward with snarling vengeance.

Screams echoed.

The ground quaked.

Ouroboros warriors fell. So did wolves. It was a mess of teeth and steel, and blood soaked the earth like rain.

Bodies dropped like flies.

There’s still no sign of Rodaric yet,Lylah said, observing the fight from a distance.

He is hiding somewhere,Falcon replied.

Lylah’s fingers were twitching, but she knew she had to be patient and follow the plan.

They are coming for you, Drakora,Lylah said to the woman who stepped to stand beside her.

They are coming for the goddess,Drakora corrected, meeting her gaze. They mustn’t find out about Arianna having that power. If this war is the end for us, I’ll give myself to them and make them think they’ve won. We still have our future hidden at the border near the endless water.
