Chapter 36: Personal mald
“Let me get you some water the maid said, quickly moving to the nearby table to pour a cup of clean water before returning to her.
Arianna took the cup and drank it all at once. Her throat was as dry as a desert, neck bobbing up and down. Some of the water spilled onto her dress as she rushed to gulp it down.
After taking the last drop, she let out a satisfied, heavy breath. Her senses became clearer. Confusion and memories settled in.
Her kidnapping.
The king’s brutal killings.
His rut
And how she had taken him whole.
She would forever refer to that terrifying night in the woods as something… mind–blowing.
The king had kissed her, sending her soaring to a place she had never been before–beyond the heavens.
She couldn’t count the number of times she had climaxed, sighting stars.
After their intimacy, she recalled how the king had drawn her close to his hard chest, their warmth mingling as she listened to his heartbeat. He had stroked her hair, letting her slowly fell asleep in his hold.
In the arms of the most ruthless man in the realm, she had felt the safest she had ever been.
It sounded surreal, but she had wished they could have stayed like that a little longer.
“Mylady, was that a nightmare?” the maid asked lightly, her voice til filed with concern.
As Arianna opened her mouth to reply but she finally recognized her surroundings.
“I’m… in the king’s chamber?” Arianna panicked, trying to stand up, but the maid gently held her back.
“My lady must rest. That was the king’s command,” Nyra spoke fluently. Arianna blinked.
“In his room?”
“Yes, my lady,” Nyra nodded.
Arianna’s heart skipped a beat, fluttered again her chest.
“Would you like me to prepare a bath for you?”
“Why?… I…” Arianna muttered, her eyes sweeping across the chamber.
So many questions swirled in her head, but only one rolled off her tongue.
“How long have I been asleep?”
“It’s barely past noon, my lady. I’ll help you with your bath and have you eat the proper meal prepared for you.‘
Arianna’s lips parted, utterly stunned by everything as the maid walked off to prepare everything.
The maid helped with her bath and began washing her hair, Arianna studied her, observing carefully.

She was young, with beautiful blue eyes and a calm, sweet aura around her–yet something about her was mysterious.
Arianna cleared her throat, wanting to start a conversation to break the awkward silence.
“What is your name? Apart from the day you dressed ine up to dine with the king, I have never seen you around before. Are you a

“My name is Nyra, and yes, tam a newly trained mald. Your personal maid,” Nyra replied with a sweet smile.
But Arianna still felt overwhelmed by all that was happening.
A personal mald? When did a slave start having a personal maid?
She needed to see the king–to clear her thoughts.

NYRA
She had not lied to the King.
She had given him the truth, just not all of it.
Arianna did look harmless. Nyra didn’t sense any bad energy from her so far.
But an ouroboros energy can be decieving sometimes, that was why the Seer had prayed to heaven to end Arianna’s life before crossing the king. But now, it was inevitable.
The Seer had gave her a strict instruction not to let Duncan know he was mated to Arianna’s dragon.
That might disrupt the fate the heaven had written for them.
The King’s heart was the only thing that could lead the realm.
As Nyra bathed Arianna, running warm water over her skin, she could not help but study her more closely. The young woman was quiet but not weak.
