Chapter 5: Secrets
Roman
I have no idea who this girl is, but the moment she looked me in the eye, I knew she was no omega. And if she’s not, then she knows how to properly reject a mate. So, she’s hiding who she is, and I’m intrigued. Why would an Alpha wolf, for that is what Pierce says she is, be hiding as an omega?
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she says, her chin jutting up. I want to smile, but I fight it. It’s very possible that this Alpha pretending to be an omega will smack me if I do. Although, it might be worth it to see just how strong she is I’m not sure how William didn’t notice that she was an Alpha. 1
“How old were you when you arrived in this pack?” I ask her.
“I was young. I don’t remember,” she says. Another lie.
“Where is your family?”
Dead”
I narrow my eyes and walk around her, looking her over. By the way she tenses and stands up straighter, I’m sure she thinks I’m assessing her value as my mate. I’m not. I wouldn’t care if she really was an omega. I’d be surprised, but I’m strong enough to have an omega for a mate. I don’t need an Alpha as a mate, but I’m proud that the Moon Goddess has given me one.
What I am looking at is her physique. She’s tried to hide it, but if you look closely, you can see that she’s too tall to be an omega, her body isn’t soft enough to be an omega which means she has a wolf and she takes her wolf out to run frequently. An Alpha wolf would need to run and stretch her legs. That kind of exercise shows itself on our human form and my mate is
no different
“Has Alpha William ever laid hands on you?” I ask. I wouldn’t expect it from him, but you never know what happens in someone’s pack.
“What? No! He’s a good Alpha” she says adamantly.
“A good Alpha who didn’t realize that an Alpha female was hiding in his pack?” I ask, incredulously.
“I’m not hiding.”
she insists.
“Aren’t you?” I ask her.
“No, I’m
not,” she says, sounding surly
I come to stand in front of her, looking into her beautiful amber colored eyes
“SHIFT!” I say, putting the full force of my Alpha command behind it
Rather than shifting, she snarls at me, her eyes becoming the color of dark chocolate in her anger as her wolf fights my
command
“FUCK YOU!” she growls.
“You can if you’d like,” I say, taunting her. “But I’d rather know w who I’m taking to my bed before I fuck her. And you can stop pretending to be an omega. No omega, not even my mate, could have resisted that command”
She clenches her teeth so tight I swear I can hear them grinding together.
“And since you are most definitely an Alpha, then you truly are hiding your identity, and I’d like to know why.”
She opens her mouth to say something snarky, but I cut her off
+25 BONUS
“Don’t pretend you don’t know exactly who you are Every Alpha knows how to properly reject someone. Even an omega knows how to properly reject someone. So, your unwillingness to reject me properly only means that you are hiding your identity, and I want to know who you are
“My name is Samantha”
“Is it?”
“Ask anyone in this p
pack what my name is,” she snaps.
“And what were you called before you came here?” I ask her.
“I don’t know. I was very you
young when I arrived.”
“So, Alpha William named you?” I ask her.
I watch as her mouth opens and closes, unsure if Alpha William will know to lie for her. Instead of answering, she crosses
her arms over her chest.
“Why do you care?”
“Because the Moon Goddess has seen fit to finally give me the mate I’ve been waiting for.” I lean forward, getting in her face.
That’s you, Samantha”
She steps back and I let her. I begin assessing my options, I know the party is on hold, waiting for me to allow everyone back
into the room, but I don’t care. They can wait.
“What’s your last name?” I ask
“Chapman,” she says instantly, referencing Alpha William’s last name.
