The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 440

Chapter 440: A Stingy Daughter

"This is truly her perfume." Lazarus slowly reached out toward the bottle, and without realizing it, tears slipped from the corners of his eyes. "Iriana... I finally bought your favorite perfume again."

Primrose let her father drown in his memories, even looking away when he cried like a helpless boy. After all, he and her mother had truly loved each other back then, so it was normal for him to break down like this.

[How am I supposed to live if my wife dies again someday?]

Primrose’s eyes widened a little when Edmund’s voice suddenly echoed inside her mind.

[I probably won’t be as strong as Father, but... it’s not like I can just die early so I can meet her faster in the afterlife.]

Primrose immediately reached under the table, grabbed his hand, and squeezed it harder than she meant to. It was actually her way of telling him that she would NEVER let him think such a stupid thing.

Besides, they would have a child soon. There was no way he would let their child grow up with the memory of him ending his own life. That kind of trauma would follow the child forever, whether they were young or grown up.

No matter what the reason was, Primrose would never allow it!

She would eat better, walk more, and try to live as long as she could! Maybe until she was seventy!

More than that... she’d probably look like a whole bundle of wrinkles, and she didn’t want that either!

Edmund squeezed her hand back, then spoke again in her mind. [I won’t do anything stupid. I promise.]

Those simple words of reassurance were enough to make Primrose feel relieved. She cleared her throat when she noticed her father had stopped crying and had calmed himself down.

"Father," she said softly. "I believe Mother must miss you very much too."

Lazarus sighed. "Of course she misses me!" he said. "What if she feels lonely in the afterlife?! Oh... my poor wife."

"Don’t worry, Father." Primrose reached for his hand. "You can meet Mother again after you die, but not too soon! You’re about to become a grandfather very soon!"

"Silly child!" Lazarus scolded her. "Of course I don’t want to die that quickly!"

Primrose smiled brightly. "I’m glad to hear that." She then glanced at the perfume. "So, Father... do you want to keep the perfume? We can share it half-and-half, but I want to keep the bottle."

The only thing Lazarus wanted was to smell the perfume his wife used one last time, so the bottle itself didn’t matter much to him.

Honestly, Primrose felt the same way. But since the bottle was pretty, she didn’t want to let it go.

"That’s fine," Lazarus said. "But does that mean I also have to pay half for it?"

Primrose clicked her tongue. "Oh, Father, do you think I’m that stingy?! My husband will pay for it!"

[If her husband is the one paying, then that means she IS stingy!] Lazarus grumbled in his heart.
