The Mischievous Doctor (Finnegan and Nuthana) novel Chapter 446

“Mr. Patrick, Bernie!” Finnegan called out.

The following morning, Finnegan had a quick breakfast before rushing out the door. He hailed a taxi and hurried to Firebird Group.

Patrick and Bernice, who had just arrived not long ago, were waiting for him at the entrance.

Clearly having had a restless night, Bernice asked, “Finnegan, do you really have a solution?”

It wasn't that she didn't trust Finnegan.

The debts of Firebird Winery were simply too substantial. She was worried that even if Finnegan had a solution, he wouldn't be able to turn the tide and transform the losses into profits.

Finnegan reassured her. “Don't worry, if I said I have a way, then I definitely do. However, it would be sufficient for Mr. Patrick and me to go up. You can just wait in the car.”

A slight stir in Patrick's heart prompted him to say, “Bernie, you wait in the car. Finnegan and I will go and talk with your grandfather.”

Thinking of Bruce's current demeanor, Bernice didn't really feel like seeing him either.

Nodding, he said, “If we really are to take over Firebird Winery, we must scrutinize the contract carefully.”

Subsequently, Finnegan followed Patrick into the building.

After stepping into the express elevator, Patrick asked, “You mentioned to Bernie that you have a way to turn Firebird Winery's losses into profits. How?”

With a mysterious smile, Finnegan said, “Once we've dealt with the matters here, let's find a place to talk.”

Upon hearing this, Patrick didn't press further and simply responded, “All right!”

Upon arriving at the Chairman's office, both Bruce and his wife, along with Bishop and his daughter, were already waiting.

Moreover, there was laughter and conversation.

However, when they saw Finnegan arrive, the smiles on their faces froze instantly.

In Millicent's eyes, there was an unmistakable display of hatred.

“Why are you here?”

Patrick took over the conversation in a deep voice, “He has nothing to do with you, but he is my son-in-law. Is there a problem with him coming with me?”

Unbelievably, Patrick had actually stood up to her for Finnegan. Millicent, in her frustration, slapped the armrest of the couch and exclaimed, “Patrick, I am your mother! How could you—”

“Stepmother!” Patrick interrupted her coldly.

In an instant, Millicent's face froze.

Bruce spoke up at the right moment. “Enough, what kind of image are we presenting by causing a ruckus in the company?” He pointed to the contract documents that had been prepared on the desk. “Patrick, take a look and sign it. Then, Firebird Winery will be yours!”

Millicent, who was initially about to lose her temper, also closed her mouth at this moment.

The utmost priority was to have Patrick sign off on taking over Firebird Winery, thereby assuming all its debts!

Finnegan was the first to walk up to the desk and pick up those contract documents, wearing a knowing smile. “Father, Firebird Winery is under the group's umbrella. Do you think the board of directors would agree to you separating it out on your own?”

Facing Finnegan, Bruce always felt an inexplicable unease, his gaze constantly evading Finnegan's gaze. “Of course. Otherwise, how could I have passed it on to Patrick?”

Finnegan mocked, “Indeed! The Zimmerman family made a clean profit of one point six billion in and out, and the board members also netted over eight hundred million. It would be strange if they didn't agree. But old man, you really are quite the schemer, keeping the money for your younger son, while leaving the debt for your elder son to shoulder. Do you think there might be people cursing you behind your back, calling you an old rascal?”

Bruce's expression darkened.

How could he not discern that Finnegan was indirectly criticizing him?

Millicent was even more infuriated and bellowed, “Finnegan, no matter what, he is still Bernice's grandfather. Do you not understand the concept of respect for elders?”

“Try yelling again.” Finnegan coldly swept his gaze over. “Believe it or not, I can take Mr. Patrick and leave right now. I don't need Firebird Winery. You can leave it to your son.”

Old hag. Finnegan turned toward Bruce, whose expression was constantly changing. “I'll ask you again,” he said, “Have you made up your mind?”

According to the stipulations of the invisible shareholding entrustment, the debts and responsibilities were his, and ostensibly, they had nothing to do with Bruce.

If Firebird Winery were to truly grow and strengthen in the future, Bruce could indeed use this as a means to take over the company at any time.

Bruce spoke with a slight lack of confidence. “I am passing this on to you, so adding this clause is quite normal. Look at those top companies in our country, who among their representatives doesn't hold shares?”

Millicent chimed in, “Exactly, why bother fussing over so many details? Do you really think your father would deceive you?”

Finnegan raised his hand, signaling Patrick to stop talking.

His eyes were fixed intently on Bruce. “In that case, it should be clearly stated in the contract that the responsibilities and debts are yours. Mr. Patrick is not involved in any way; he is merely holding and managing the shares on your behalf. If you refuse to amend, then Firebird Winery will be handed over to your younger son today. My father-in-law won't accept it.”

Patrick's expression was gloomy as he silently acknowledged Finnegan's words.

Yet, the expression on Bruce's face had turned somewhat awkward.

What he envisioned was Patrick growing stronger with the help of Finnegan, and then he would consolidate everything to make the Zimmerman family even more powerful!

However, at that moment, Finnegan had no intention of giving him time to ponder. “And if you don't want to take responsibility, then eliminate the clause about invisible shareholding entrustment. Firebird Winery belongs solely to Mr. Patrick, and it has absolutely nothing to do with any of you. I'm giving you ten seconds to think it over, starting now! One... Two...”

Bruce looked at Patrick. “Won't you say a word?”

Patrick, who had already lost all hope, closed his eyes. “My son-in-law's attitude is my own. Either hand it over to me completely, and I can take on all the debts. Or... you bear it yourself!”

Finnegan was still counting. “Five!”

At this point, Millicent became anxious. “Bruce, just let it go. Firebird Winery simply can't recover. Don't keep hoping for a day when it will rise again and consolidate.”

“Six!”

Upon hearing this, Bruce felt annoyed and said, “Enough. I'll change!”
