Emily was really going to fire her from the voice cast.
Olivia stood frozen, her mind spinning. When had she ever done anything to upset Emily?
"Emily, I don't get it…"
"You don't have to." Emily's face stayed cold, not giving Olivia a chance to say more. "I just don't like your voice. So I'm getting a new voice actress. That's all there is to it."
"You—"
"Ken, take care of this," Emily said, turning to the assistant director. "Find someone new to redo the lines tomorrow. I'll pay Olivia whatever she's owed."
"Understood."
Being the lead actress, Emily could get anyone replaced if she wanted. No one was going to argue with her.
She glanced at Olivia, who'd gone paper-white. Seeing her like that made Emily feel a little better. Serves her right for spreading rumors about Charlotte.
"Emily, is there some kind of misunderstanding?" Olivia tried to plead her case. She wasn't just here for the money. After that piano competition scandal, her reputation was in pieces. Landing a voice role in a soon-to-be hit drama had been her chance to get noticed again, maybe even work her way back into the social scene. Now it was slipping through her fingers.
"A misunderstanding?" Emily let out a cold little laugh. "I don't care if there is or isn't. The point is, I don't like you. And I want you gone."
"You—"
Emily cut her off, her voice sharp and icy. "You can leave on your own, or I can have security send you out."
Olivia saw the security guards coming and her eyes filled with angry tears. She bit her lip, desperate. "Emily, don't you want to know what's going on between Charlotte and Kenneth?"
