The Night Wolf novel Chapter 79

"What do you mean by 'him'." Ed asked, looking horrified as he turned to look at Lark.

"What is your problem? You're the hostage here, why do you care who I boss around?" Said Nick.

"I'm not done yet," Willow looked pointedly at Nick. "You pushed the most boring job to him in the name of punishment that he didn't deserve, even though you knew," Willow scoffed. "You knew that he had a date today, yet you made him watch after me, what sort of friend are you?"

Nick glared at Willow before he rolled his eyes. "Justin," he said. "Bring her down."

Justin furrowed his brows, he stared at Willow then turned to look at Nick.

"What are you staring at?" Said Nick. "Go."

"No."

"No?"

"Justin is not your servant!" Willow added fuel from the background. "You should stop being a toxic friend."

"No! I'm done with your shit." Justin then walked towards Willow and untied her.

Willow now truly believed that words were indeed mightier than swords.

"What is wrong with you?" Said Nick as he charged forward but was tripped over by Lark.

"Oops. I didn't see you there."

Nick caught himself before he hit the ground and only stumbled. Nick glared at Lark and threw a punch at Lark, but Lark just leaned to the side which had Nick stumbling again.

Ed looked torn between what to do, as if he made up his mind, he charged towards Justin. Willow's eyes widened when she saw Ed running towards her, since her feet was just freed, she got off the chair, pulling it along with her since her hands were still tied to the arms of the chair. Willow abruptly turned and hit Ed across his torso with her chair. But she regretted it the very next moment because she felt the bile rise up, even though she hadn't eaten anything for hours now. Thankfully, Justin then took charge as he threw a punch at Ed.

Within ten minutes, Nick and Ed had been tied in ropes, normally they would have been able to break free of them, but now that they were beaten to unconsciousness, Willow doubted they would be waking up in the next few hours.

"Let's go." Said Lark.

"Wait." Said Willow. Justin and Lark turned to look at her. "My hands."

"I'll get that." Said Justin and he cut her ropes off.

That is when they heard the doorbell go off.

"Are you expecting someone?" Asked Willow.

"It must be the prince." Said Justin.

"We have to leave this place." Lark said suddenly.

"What?" Lark who was running in front of her turned to look at her.

"Rowan is here."

Lark's long pointy ears twitched as if he heard something, he looked at the mansion behind him. "Rowan is here." He agreed.

Lark was about to walk back to the house, when he abruptly turned to stare at Willow.

"You-" said Lark. "Did you drink something?"

Willow furrowed her brows and then nodded. "Nick did make me drink something questionable."

"Was it blood?" Lark asked icily.

"Blood?" Willow mumbled, then her eyes widened. Her mind going back to when Nick had made her drink the Capri-Sun. Willow retched. She was horrified thinking back on it. "It was red." Willow whispered.

"This-" Lark sighed. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry?" Willow looked up at Lark in confusion when Lark open his palm and blew something in her eye.

Willow shut her eyes instinctively, but some of the dust had flown into her eyes, making her rub them furiously. She wondered if Lark hit his head somewhere before he came to rescue her, that might be the only reason for him to act like a crackhead. "What's wrong with you, Lark?"
