"Rowan was driven mad, he couldn't take it. Instead of ruling as a just, he turned into a tyrant, swearing to destruct all the werewolves in his madness."
"He wouldn't." Willow mumbled. She couldn't believe what she was hearing from the Goddess, it felt too unreal.
"One shouldn't be punished for others mistakes." The goddess sighed. "Having ambitions is a good thing indeed, but taking any lengths to complete their goals, hurting others on the way wasn't the right thing to do. Because of Hunter and Triple's silly mistake, thousands of people had to suffer for it. Hunter rejected you because he looked down on humans and because he wanted to keep his bloodline pure."
"I choose the people who are the most compatible with each other, but they just had to ruin it all, and cause the worst destruction possible."
Willow was quiet for a long time, taking it all in. "So, how am I still alive?"
"I broke your bond with Hunter before the witch could, and changed your soulmate."
"My soulmate? Who is it?" Willow clenched her fists.
The moon goddess smiled, it made the tense Willow, calm down. "That's for you to find out."
Willow blinked as she stared at the Goddess. "Will you really not tell me?"
"I won't." The goddess blinked back at her.
Willow lowered her gaze and sighed. But then she remembered what the goddess had previously said. "You said that you severed my bond with Hunter before the witch could."
"I did." The goddess nodded.
"My friend, Melody said that the reason behind me getting the cramps was Hunter, it's because he was with Triple at night that I would get the cramps."
"I did indeed sever your bond, but for me to interfere would cause imbalance in the universe, for me to change your fate in the middle would have cause unaffordable repercussion, so when I interfered, the outcome was you hurting every time Hunter was with other girls. But it was supposed to stop when either of you would be marked."
Willow sighed as she wondered if Rowan could actually be her true mate, but then she remembered that Triple had been Rowan's mate previously. "What about Triple?"
"Triple?"
"Is she still Rowan's mate?" Willow clenched her dress with her sweaty palms. She didn't want to ask as she was scared to find out the truth, but she knew that she didn't want to remain in the dark at this point.
The Goddess smiled. "Axel," said the Goddess suddenly. "You may come out."
Willow looked around, expecting to see her father, but she was met with silence. After a long while there was a sound of rustling before Axel emerged from behind the bushes. "Dad?"
"Oh I was just looking for my pen." Said Axel, clearing his throat.
"Did you find it?" The Goddess asked.
"I-" Axel began nervously as he brushed a leaf off his head. "No."
"I-" said Axel. "I can?"
The Goddess nodded. "You can, since it's going to be impossible for Willow to manage it on her own."
"What do you have to train me for?"
"As you know, you're my granddaughter, so of course, I wouldn't leave my granddaughter powerless in that world, I'm shocked you didn't notice your power surfacing by now."
"My powers," Willow stared, wide eyed at the goddess.
"You have even used them unknowingly, that one time when you encountered Hunter and Triple, who are werewolves and have a keen sense of smell, hadn't noticed you until that faerie prince called you."
Then she remembered some things that seemed unusual, when she had been in the sports equipment room, she had then wished that miraculously she could remain unseen since she didn't want to talk with either of them.
"And did that also happen when I was kidnapped?"
The Goddess nodded.
Willow sighed, amazed at what she had found. She couldn't believe all this she was hearing.
