The Only One Series novel Chapter 29

I parked my car outside the tattoo shop. As I walked in Diamond asked, "bitch where have you been?" Your house is empty. Where did you move to? Not telling. I don't want that ass hole president of yours knowing where I live. I want him to fucking stay away from me. I looked at her as she walked back to her station. I let out the breath I had been holding. I don't think she wants to remember Gunner. I can't say she doesn't want to remember her children. Gunner I thought, you don't know the pain and damage you have done to Lana.

I watched Lana move around the shop and work with her clients. Every time Gunner's name was mentioned you could see how cold she turned. She really did hate him. I was lost in my thoughts the door opened and Spider walked in. I walked back to Leigh's session and told her he was here. She walked upfront with me and smiled at him. The way she smiled made me suspicious. Come on back Spider. I was finishing his tattoo today and I have to say. It looks really good.

I heard Spider tell Leigh he would pick her up tonight and reminded her to take a pair of jeans along with what she planned on sleeping in enough for two days. Then Leigh said, "I will be ready." As they walked up to the front. After he left I asked, "Leigh are you going away with Spider?" I am along with half his club members. Gunner is not going to like this. Where are you going? Their club campground and then riding to Sturgis for the week. Did you know that we are all going as well? No, I didn't. Maybe we will see each other there. Maybe I said watching her walk out the door.

I locked the shop and rode to the compound feeling anxious about how Gunner is going to take this news. I walked into the clubhouse feeling anxious. Animal I need to talk to you I said. He stood up and followed me outside. When I told him that Leigh was spending a week with Spider and his members in Stergios he went white. Shit, Gunner is going to go off. Why does Spider hate Gunner so much? Diamond, Spider dated Lana before Gunner came along and broke them up. We all would have sworn that Leigh and Spider would have gotten married if Gunner would not have moved to town right before we all started high school.

So Gunner deserves what he has coming. Diamond don't let him hear you say that. Why not? She suffered for five long years then he has sex with her she bore his children and went into a coma. If he would have left her and Spider alone she would be happy right now. The more I hear the less sorry I feel for him. I won't help him get her back. I am cheering for Leigh and Spider they should have been together all along. Well, one thing is that if she and Spider make it legal and get married it won't be legal.

I looked at him grinning and said. What is her full name? Lana Leigh shit. She is using her middle name. She will have to produce a birth certificate to get married. That's right. So any marriage she has will be legal. During the ceremony, she can use her middle name. Fuck goddam Gunner. He will lose either way. Yes, he will lose her for good. I have this feeling that he has caused her so much pain that even if she gets her memory back she won't go back to him.

I thought about how lucky I am that Animal did not do to me what Gunner did to Lana or Leigh as she calls herself. I secretly hope that she gets with Spider. He is a good man who deserves to be happy. Just as much as she does. I heard crying in the house and realized one of the babies was crying. As I walked in I saw Gunner holding Fawn over his shoulder. I heard him say to her and that one day he hoped she would forgive him for what he did to her mama.

Gunner didn't see me standing there in the corner as he talked about Lana. Your mama she is a good woman. But daddy couldn't see that until it was too late. I want you to come to your daddy if a man treats you the same way that I treated your mother. I never want that to ever happen to you. I am the reason she doesn't' remember having you and your brother or me. I never stopped loving her. I never will. But now because of all the pain, I caused her, her mind has chosen to shut down to protect her. If God ever gives her memory back to her and she remembers I hope and pray that he gives me a second chance with her. But you see I don't think that will happen.

I did not realize I was crying. Gunner loves Lana and he knows he has been a fool for not coming home to her. He is bound and determined that his children will not hate her for forgetting them. He also still wants her and he wants her to be happy. I will tell your brother the same thing only I will make him understand that when he finds someone to love he holds on tight to her and never lets her go.
