The Only One Series novel Chapter 9

When we arrived back at the clubhouse everyone welcomed Laura back but were worried about Lana. Laura waited until Gunner went to his room and then asked to talk to Hawk and Mayhem in his office. Once there I asked. Laura, you know who has Lana, don't you? I do. I want you to know I was treated with respect and so was Lana. Who is she with I asked? Lana said she is with Falcon.

What, did I hear you correctly? Did you say Falcon as in my army buddy? I did. He introduced all his soldiers to her and told them she is his sister and will be treated with respect. Also, his soldiers do not believe in disrespecting women. He even as women soldiers. He is strict but fair. He is pissed at how Gunner has been treating Lana.

He said he is making Gunner think he took her to hurt her. That is that last thing he is doing. He is very gentle with her. You do not have to worry about Lana being hurt. He had a man beat for touching Lana's breast when she was unconscious. He said it was punishment for disrespecting a woman. I laughed. Looks like our plan is the same one Falcon thought of. This is going to be good. I just wonder how Falcon is going to play it out.

Back at Hawks compound, Lana was sitting on the front porch watching Falcon train his soldiers. She watched how he moved and his muscles flexed. Too bad he thinks of her as a sister. Lana was lost in her thoughts back in time. A time where she would watch Gunner practice his self-defense moves when he would come home on leave. Back to a time where he would try and teach her some moves.

She had not realized she was crying. She remembered his arms around her looking down at her smiling and then leaning down and kissing her. Lana forgot at that moment she had a cast on her leg as she jumped up to run into the house and fell on the porch. Falcon saw her fall and ran up to the porch to pick her up.

What happened he asked? She looked at him with tears running down her face and said. I was remembering when Gunner came home on leave, watching him practice his self-defense moves. And then when he worked with me and we were happy. Now all I have are memories. Falcon gently picked Lana up and carried her into the house.

I said wait for it and started counting down and then said. Here it comes. That son of a bitch we heard being yelled through the clubhouse. I am going to fucking kill him I will rip his head off of his shoulders for this. After everything, she did for him. Gunner stormed into my office saying. Look at this? Falcon has Lana and he beat her. Can you believe that? How could he do that to her? Gunner said shoving his phone in my face.

I sat back in my chair looking at Gunner with anger in my eyes. What the hell do you care what he did to her? You never came home. You never claimed her. You left her alone for the past five years. In my openion this does not concern you. It does however concern myself and my club. Go back home to your own club. No, not until I get Lana back.

Mayhem looked at Gunner and said. This would not have happened if you had come home years ago. You don't know shit I said. Mayhem said. I know that girl has waited for you for five years. You didn't show up until she was kidnapped.
