The Pack's Alpha (by Cooper) novel Chapter 29

Yorick

My hands clench into fists. You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. This tool? This is the man who thinks he’s going to take what’s mine?

“I told you I was going to come visit you, Cyra. Imagine my surprise when you weren’t home. I figured you were out.

But you were so adamant when we talked about how busy you’ve been with your studies that I assumed you’d be back any minute. So, I waited.” He glanced at her, but obviously realizing that we’ve been together all night, his eyes returned to me.

“We got caught in the rain,” she says.

“Right,” he says, his tone indicating his disbelief.

Cyra turns and looks at me, her eyes pleading with me not to start anything.

“I need to shower,” I tell her, walking past her.

The tool steps in my way. “I’m Alpha Stellan.”

“Yeah, I heard. I’m Alpha Yorick,” I say, stepping around him and walking to the showers.

“I’m Cyra’s betrothed,” he calls out, and I spin around, Thad pushing forward. Before I can take a step, Cyra is between us, her hand on my chest.”I’m her fated mate. So if you want you to go, Stellan, let’s have a go,” I snarl.

“Yorick, go shower,” she says softly.

I glare at the man, while Thad thrashes around in my head trying to get to him. He just smirks at me like he’s already won. Shit, I’lt get my family to attack his pack just because he thinks he can take what’s mine. And then I’ll wipe that smug grin off his face.

“Yorick, please,” she says. I pull my eyes away from him and look at her.

‘Please,’ she mouths.

I tear myself away and go into my room, getting my clothes before stomping down the hallway to the showers.

“Here Stellan, come into my room. I need to shower too,” I hear Cyra say.

“What the fuck is with all the flowers, Cyra?” he asks when she opens her door. Good, let him see that one of us knows how to take care of her.

I don’t wait to hear her response as I push through the doors to the bathroom and go to the shower stalls.

I strip off my clothes and stand under the water. I close my eyes and punch the wall, leaving a hold in it. 1

We should kill him now. He cannot have our mate, Thad snarls in my head.’No, he can’t, I snarl back, just as I feel her hand on my back.

I spin, pressing her against the opposite wall of the small shower, my hand around her throat.

“Cyra, I’m warning you now, if he touches any part of your body with any part of his, I swear to the Moon Goddess that he will not make it off this campus alive. I don’t care what hellfire comes raining down on me, I will not be able to hold Thad back,” I growl.

“You know I was never with any other man before you, Yorick,” she says. I can see the pain in her eyes. She doesn’t want him here any more than I do.

I slide my hand down her shoulder and press my forehead to hers.

“I didn’t know he’d be here. He mentioned it before I left, but he never confirmed that he was coming,” she whispers, and I can hear the tears in her voice.

I pull her against me. “If he tells you he wants out of this agreement, you say yes. Whatever happens, I’ll get my family involved,” I say.

She shakes her head, but I hold her against me.

“Yes, Cyra. I will call my family to war if that’s what it takes.”

“You can’t, Yorick…”I can and I will. He may lead a powerful pack, Cyra, but 3o do my brother and my brother-in-law.”

“Yorick…

I press my finger to her lips. “If he wants out, say yes. We’ll deal with anything else that happens.”

She nods. “I need to get back.”

He continues to laugh and I stand, snarling at him “What’s so funny?”

He looks at me, shaking his head. “I’m not ending the alliance bond. But, I’ll do this for you. Once I have my heir, you can have her. You get what you want, I get what I want, and we’re all happy. Granted, if she gives me girls, it’ll take a while. But if our first pup is a boy, then after he’s born, she can come to you. I have no problem with that.”

I feel red hot fury flow through my veins. “Do you think so little of Cyra that you believe that she’d ever leave her child for anyone?”

He shrugs as if it’s not his problem. “She can stay for the pup or leave for you. It’ll be her choice. I have no intention of being true to her once I have my heir. She’d be smart to go to you. But again, that’s her decision.”

“You’re a fucking piece of work, you know that?” I growl.

He turns and gives mẹ an arrogant, snide smile. “I’m the piece of work that’s going to fuck your mate until I have what I want…”That’s as far as he gets before I lose control of Thad. I launch at him, my fist connecting with his nose in satisfying crunch. I land on top of him and begin punching him with every intention of killing him.

I don’t realize that we’re surrounded until Zach, Landon, and Chase are pulling me off of him. I continue flailing to get to him, to finish what I started, until Cyra is in front of me, grabbing my face and pulling my gaze to hers.

“Stop, Yorick! Stop this now! You’re going to start a war.”

“I don’t fucking care,” I snarl.

“But I do. If that means anything to you, then stop this right now.”

I watch as Stellan stands, blood dripping from his broken nose, his busted lip, and several other cuts on his face.

“You can hate me, but it doesn’t change anything,” he says, before turning and walking away.

I jerk out of my friends’ holds, watching him walk away.

“Yorick, come with me,” Cyra says softly.

I turn my glare on her. “What don’t I know, Cyra? He said you haven’t told me something. That I don’t know something. So, what the fuck don’t I know?”
