Chapter 278
Third Person’s POV

In the plush confines of the estate, the spinning top had lost its charm. Magnus carefully lifted Aysel from his lap, settling her onto the sofa. He watched as she shifted to face him, her hair spilling over his legs, and then he began to tenderly kiss her face.
Aysel had cried earlier, but that moment had passed. Now, she only giggled at his teasing touches, her laughter high-pitched, and a playful glint in her eyes.
She wiggled away, a mock pout on her lips.
“Magnus, don’t mimic Daron-”
He arched an eyebrow, amused.
“You think I’m copying him? Or are you the one who’s been sneaking kisses? You promised you’d only kiss me from now on.”
Aysel’s cheeks warmed, and Magnus-almost as if it were instinct-nipped at her collarbone, his sharp teeth grazing her skin in a way that sent shivers through her. He lingered there, his breath hot against her.
She gasped, voice softer than velvet.
“I didn’t kiss you on the lips. I just… I just wanted to hold you.”
Aysel cupped his face, pulling him closer, and planted soft, lingering kisses on his lips, making a sound like a puppy’s affectionate “boop.”
“I love you, Magnus,” she whispered, her voice tinged with adoration.
Magnus’s heart swelled, a warm, pulsing sensation filling him completely. His voice was rough with emotion, but his words were simple.
“I know.”
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply, taking in her scent. He needed her. She was his, and this love was the only thing that mattered in this wild world.
Thank you,” he murmured. “Thank you for loving me!
There were times when he feared that this-her, them-was a dream. The kind of dream you’d wake from, only to find yourself alone, cold, with no one to love or protect you. How would he go on if she weren’t real?
Sensing his unease, Aysel gently pulled his head away from her neck, her fingers threading through his hair. She held his face, her expression serious yet tender.
“I won’t leave you, Magnus.” Her lips found his in a deep reaffirming kiss. “From now on, we have a home. Together.”
Her words were a promise. One that anchored him, kept him tethered to this moment. Magnus’s hands tightened around her waist, pulling her close as he deepened the kiss, a surge of hope and possessiveness igniting in him. His lips parted as he kissed her with all the passion of a wolf claiming his mate-fierce, eternal.

Chapter 278
On the sofa, their bodies tangled together, surrendering to the heat between them.

Meanwhile, the Darkmoon family remained blinded by their concern for Olivia, unaware that far darker storms were brewing on the horizon.
Forget the old enmity between Magnus and Ivy, or the grudges between their families. The real threat lay Olivia’s treachery. Once it was known she had hired mercenaries to take Aysel’s life, Magnus would show I
mercy.
What had been an accident today, in the heat of battle, ight very well become a calculated move in the future. Who knew what lengths she might go to next?
Still, Jackson and Kian refrained from taking immediate action. Instead, they had allowed Olivia to witnes: the gruesome interrogation of the captured mercenarie-a spectacle that left her trembling, her face pale paralyzed by the violence.
Raised in the sheltered halls of the Darkmoon, Olivia had always been pampered, her every need met. When Magnus handed her over to Jackson and Kian, tying her to the same fate as the mercenaries, her mind had shattered. She had believed that meeting him in the command cabin would be her salvation, bu instead, she found only terror.
The events of the night, one brutal moment after another, left her with an instinctive fear whenever Magnus’s name was spoken. Now, even the mere mention of him set her on edge. In her panic, she lost her ability to speak, her tongue frozen in fear, and the weight of the terror she’d experienced crushed her.
Back at the Darkmoon estate, Ivy was waiting for Ulric Sanchez to return. She had hoped he might know what had happened to Olivia, that perhaps Magnus had shared the details of what had turned her into a broken, fearful shell.
But when Ulric returned, it was clear he was a man undone. He passed right by her, barely acknowledging her presence, and went straight into his study, shutting the door behind him with a decisive thud.
