Chapter 1664: Whispers of A Name

As a sixth-dimensional Magus, Kacius Black had stepped into the higher echelons of immortals, even though he could be considered to be at the bottom of that echelon.

So when he arrived at the plaza filled with tens of millions of mages, he was able to bypass eighty percent of them and move towards the center of the gathering.

Everyone here was hovering a thousand miles above a golden sea below, which was the plaza. Kacius could easily fly through their ranks that stretched for hundreds of miles, since each mage here was separated by thousands of meters, keeping a small layer of personal space around them, which was considered essential and a sign of courtesy.

Passing through millions of mages, he arrived near the front of the gathering where he found a relatively empty position, where mages of his rank were standing, and he stopped there, focusing on their leaders ahead.

Directly in front of him were seventh-dimensional mages numbering in the hundreds of thousands, and then... the Old Ones. ๐“ฏ๐“ป๐“ฎ๐™š๐™ฌ๐“ฎ๐™—๐’๐™ค๐’—๐™š๐™ก.๐’„๐’๐“ถ

To protect the lower dimensional mages from their presence, Old Ones usually restricted the Aura emanating from their body and soul, and still Kacius could not look at them directly or tell how much of their number were here.

In his perception, he had just seen hundreds of heavenly pillars reaching into infinity. The radiance each pillar radiated was blinding, halting his thought processes and collapsing the foundation of his spirit.

It was the reason why he could not tell how many Old Ones were here in front of him with a glance; however, as a mage, there were other tools available to him than his perception.

Kacius did not have to wait long before a signal brushed across the spirit of every mage here. Kacius summarily connected his spirit to his Magus Tower, and using his Tower as a bridge, he connected to the central platform hosted by the Old Ones.

This platform was the new and enhanced Aethernet, which had rapidly transformed under the power and wisdom of hundreds of mages at the level of Old Ones.

The Aethernet was not the same as before. Now, it was not just a method of communication. With the changes in Reality and the power of so many Old Ones contributing their efforts, it was now possible to transfer goods and services through the Aethernet.

What this meant was that Kacius could trade for resources he needed from the other side of Reality via the Aethernet, and they would be transported to his side nearly instantaneously.

He could also advertise his services and channel his power across the Aethernet into the lower realms or other dimensions.

There were fees and other technical aspects to this process that Kacius could barely wrap his head around, but he knew that this new Aethernet was no longer the property of the mages, it would seem they own only a tiny portion of it, and the only reason that they could even own this portion was due to an extremely frightening genius among the Old Ones who was also a mage.

Kacius suspected that this figure was Andar Erikson, the mage who ushered in this new age, but he could not be sure. After the events that led to the destruction of the Supreme Magus World, this figureโ€™s presence vanished, and every mention of his name was strictly regulated.

There were many aspects of the Aethernet that were forbidden to the general public, and Kacius was now in one of the forbidden portions. One of the ways he could access this part of the Aethernet was to be summoned here to this plaza, and then given a passkey by the Old Ones ahead that would enable him to access this area with his consciousness.

Using this method, he was able to safely view and listen to the consciousness of these Old Ones. They appeared relatively normal to his consciousness and not pillars of eldritch energy that could scour his soul to ash.

That was when he noticed that there were far more Old Ones here than he had expected, and a lot of them were not Mages but from other powers in Reality, and that was when Kacius fully comprehended that something big was about to happen.

As an avid historian and a careful observer of current events, Kacius was able to identify some of the new parties here with them, and among them were several Primordial powers.

That was all he had to know for sweat to run down his brows, even while inside the Aethernet. It would seem that he might not live long enough to see the culmination of this age.
