The Reclaimed Rose (Annalise and Steven) novel Chapter 816

After introducing Sherry to the team, Zane led her back to his office.

Zane approached me and said, "I want to introduce you to someone."

Having completed all my tasks for the day, I stood up to greet the woman across from me.

Zane said, "Her name is Sherry Lawson. She's very skilled at public relations."

I offered Sherry a handshake, and she took my hand. She asked, "So you're Zane's wifey, huh?"

When I heard that, I thought it was odd that Sherry referred to me as Zane's "wifey". But on second thought, since Zane and I were married, I didn't deny that question.

I smiled and said, "Yeah."

Curious about my capabilities, Sherry remarked, "Zane told me that you're great at project managing. I'd love to learn from you and see if I have any areas of improvement."

I turned to Zane, who nodded at me.

Then, I said, "Sure! I have time now. What would you like to know? If I have the knowledge, I am more than willing to share it with you."

"Sure," Sherry said, sitting down next to me.

Zane took out a document and handed it to us. He said, "If you don't have any ideas, why don't you come up with a proposal for this project?"

After glancing at the document, Sherry asked, "Is there a computer I can use?"

"Yup," I said, offering my laptop to Sherry.

When Sherry saw that, she felt confused. She asked, "If you're letting me use your laptop, what are you going to use?"

Immediately, Sherry drew closer and hummed.

After seeing the curiosity in her eyes, I couldn't bring myself to reject her. I responded, "Judging from your proposal, I can guess your thought process."

Then, I advised her on how to improve her proposal. When she heard my first sentence, she turned on her audio recorder and requested that I repeat it. I repeated what I said and continued to give the rest of my advice.

After two hours of nonstop discussion, I finally finished. By then, my throat was dry and itchy. Sherry noticed, and she offered me a glass of water. I thanked her.

Sherry asked obsequiously, "Can I come to you when I run into any other issues with work?"

"No problem!" I said.

After that, Sherry left.

When Sherry got to her office, her smile faded. She sank into her seat, staring blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought. Sherry had thought she was an elite talent within the industry.
