After cleaning the blood from Madelyn's face, Kai took off his mask and gave a menacing smile. "You don't deserve to know who he is."

Madelyn took a deep breath, feeling her head throb intensely. Not long after, she started coughing harshly, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Kai watched, maintaining his composure. Once he felt sure she was ready, he gave her two pills. He waited for her to regain some strength before moving her to a regular room.

As Kai stepped out of the operating room, Zach grabbed him, asking, "What happened to her?"

With a playful glint in his eyes and a casual tone, Kai smirked at Zach. "Hospital rules: Only direct family or spouses get info about a patient's condition. So... which role are you playing?" Adding a mocking tone, Kai said, "Oh, I almost forgot. You and she are siblings."

Zach's voice turned icy. "Enough with the games."

She tried to understand it all. 'Zach knows about his relationship with Madelyn, but he still gets close to her. We've been engaged for four years, and despite my efforts, he hardly notices me. Do they not know the truth? What will Madelyn do if she finds out?' A thought crossed her mind. 'Madelyn, this is your doing. If you weren't around, he might notice me.'

Meanwhile, Madelyn woke up in the hospital's VIP room and saw Margaret. Noticing her alertness, Margaret informed her, saying, "Mr. Jardin went to the airport to pick up your father. He said you should rest more. Once you're fully healed, he'll manage your discharge."
