Chapter 40
Inside Wikato Prison. Cyrus sat alone in front of a monitor. His eyes were fixed on the interrogation footage playing across the screen
In the viden, a long haired woman with her face obscured laughed uncontrollably. Her expression twitched with erratic, manic energy, and her body convulsed under the weight of three full doses of truth serum.
Yet, despite chemical intervention, not a single word escaped her lips.
The psychological evaluation concluded that she had severe schizophrenia. It might have progressed so far that she no longer fully controlled her
Cymas continued to watch her for a moment longer. Then, with a sharp click, he paused the footage.
On the frozen screen, her eyes were crystal clear,
“She wasn’t sick,” Cyrus mumbled. “She’s faking it”
Just then, Enzo burst into the room. “Cyrust I heard the first–year students from Limond University are doing their boot camp nearby. That girl should be there too, right? Want to go check it out!”
__Cyrus glanced at him briefly before turning back to the screen. “Did you crack the encrypted file?” he asked, ignoring Enzo’s question without a
second thought.
At that,Enzo’s expression darkened. His teeth clenched as frustration bubbled to the surface.
“I thought the encryption would cap at ten thousand combinations,” he muntered. “But the freaks from the Strueze region outdid themselves. This thing is practically impossible.”
The algorithm was complicated and monstrously complex, so much so that even a supercomputer would overheat attempting to brute–force it. At their current pace, it could take decades to break through
Cyrus pressed his fingers to his temple and exhaled slowly. “We went down the wrong path”
“What do you mean!” Enzo asked, confused.
“Shop for now” Cyrus said. His voice was calm, but firm. “We’ll revisit in later.”
“But,” Enzo’s words trailed off as something on the screen caught his attention. He leaned closer, a flicker of hope in his eyes. “Wait. Do you think she knows the code”
Cyrus didn’t blink. “What do you think? Some people in Strueze want her dead more than we do.”
Enzo swallowed hard. “Fair enough”
Cyrus closed the laptop with a quiet click and turned his wheelchair away from the desk,
“We’re heading to the boot camp site,” he said.
“What? Enzo Llinked, thrown by the abrupt shift…
Cyrus shot him a cold look, and Enzo instantly knew not to make him repeat himself.
Enzo straightened at once. “Right. Of course. It’s a security risk with all the new students doing their boot camp near Wikato Prison. We should give them a brads–up”
Cyrus didn’t respond. His thoughts had already drified elsewhere, his expression unreadable.
Elsewhere, on a bustling film set, Ronan stood near a wall, half–hidden from view. His eyes were fixed on his phone, his brow furrowed in frustration.
Told you already,” he said flatly. “I don’t have any money.”
Louise’s voice then came through the speaker. It was hoarse and trained.
“Romum, please. Just help us out one more time,” Louise pleaded, her voice cracking with desperation. “Tknow we haven’t always treated you right, and maybe you’re still holding a grudge. But we’re in serious trouble. A short–selling firm has been digging through our quarterly reports. You know what they’ll find. If the slock keeps falling –”
“What dors dut have to do with me?” Ronan cut her off. “Mom, you’re asking for billions. Who do you think I am! Even if you sold me off, I wouldn’t be worth thut much”

Chapter 40
You Lou swallowed her frustration, lowering her vnice. I heard your company’s chainman, M. Davidson, just returned to the
country”
Ronan’s expression slufted, and a bitter smile corled across his lips. “So that’s what this dearlier gave you an idea?”
He thought battery. Of course. Trust my mother to seriously think about selling me
“You watch your tour. I just meant maybe you could speak to Ms. Davidson. Ask if she’d consider investing. It wouldn’t take much, just enough to keep us afloat.” Louise said, struggling to keep her voice level
