The Silent Luna's Trial (Maple and Finn) novel Chapter 28

Chapter 21

Blair’s POV

Watching them standing there with their pitiful facesI felt nothing but disgust.

I’ve said it clearly enough. I don’t want to be your sister. I don’t want to be Christian’s Luna. I just want to be me.

Seeing your faces right now? Makes me sick.

Their expressions all shiftedhurt, wounded.

Blair, we know we messed up. It was all because of CarrieWe were blinded-

I let out a cold laugh and raised my arm, making sure they saw it.

This? Carrie sent a viper after me. And because you refused to give me medical treatment, I nearly died. The venom left me with lasting nerve damage.

Then I turned to Lysander, pointing at my back.

This scar? Carrie staged a false accusation, and I was punishedcountless lashes. The marks never fully faded.

I then pointed to my chest. Christian, you hit me with your car. Broke three of my ribs. Every time it rains, the pain is unbearable.

And these scars on my wrists? You all tied me up and left me hanging over that damn cliff. The rope burns are still there.

My whole bodycovered in wounds. Each one a gift from you.

I want to forget. But how can I? Every scar scream at me. Every pain reminds meI can’t forget.

I had more to say. But Christian couldn’t take it anymore. His Adam’s apple bobbed hard, and

whatever words he’d rehearsed died in his throat.

Because what could he say? All those carefully prepared linescrushed by the reality of my scars.

He opened his mouth, but the only thing that came out was, I’m sorryI didn’t knowI swear, I didn’t knowI was lied to

That made it worse. I looked at himheart colder than ever.

You keep saying you’re sorry. But you don’t even understand what you’re sorry for.

Yes, Carrie was cruel. But don’t pretend you were innocent.

I turned my gaze on Lysander. You’re the Alpha of the Blood Stone Pack. And you expect me to believe you had no idea what she was doing?

You had the power, the resources, the connections to investigate. But you never even tried.

Your eyes were always on Carrie. Always praising her, protecting her. Did you ever once look at

me?

Now I see you for what you are. And I’m done. You peoplelook at yourselves, pitiful, selfish, and blind. It’s laughable.

You punished Carrie, sure. But did you punish yourselves?

She paid the price, but what about you? Not a single drop of blood spilled. And now you stand here saying we know we were wronglike that’s supposed to mean something?

What if Carrie had died and I was the one still breathing? In your eyes, would that have been the real crime? Would you have tried to kill me then and again, too?

What would’ve been the point of any of it?

A crushing fatigue washed over me. I didn’t want to argue anymore.

The old Blairthe one who always kept quiet and gave in? She’s dead. And you killed her. I’m not dying a second time.

There’s nothing left between us. Not anymore.

Christian looked like he still wanted to say something, but no words came.

Outside, Cassian had heard everythingheard me calmly listing every wound I carried. His eyes were full of pain for me.

I opened the door and stepped outbut he didn’t flinch. Our eyes met in a silent, unspoken exchange.

I froze for a second. His eyes were red at the corners, and he looked like he wanted to speakbut
