The Silent Luna's Trial (Maple and Finn) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 1

“Ms. Carrington, this cruise ship rivals the Titanic in grandeur, yet it’s the newest model available. It boasts every amenity you could dream of, with impeccable service accompanying you throughout your voyage.”

Tessa blinked slowly, her eyes locked on the sleek miniature vessel displayed before her.

“Is it really true that once I step aboard, I can simply leave this place behind?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The salesman’s interest visibly sharpened.

“Absolutely! You can navigate wherever your heart desires. There’s nothing missing on board—you could live your entire life here without ever setting foot on land again. It even—”

Tessa cut him off with a cool, decisive gesture, pointing directly at the model.

“I’ll take this one.”

The salesman’s face lit up with enthusiasm. “Excellent choice! Delivery will take about a week, so if you’re planning to move in immediately, you’ll want to start packing.”

She accepted the business card he handed her and slipped it quietly into her bag.

Before leaving, she lowered her voice, reminding him softly, “Please, I don’t want anyone else to know about this.”

He nodded in understanding, and satisfied, she turned away.

Tessa’s decision was made. She would vanish to a place where no one could track her down and never return. After careful consideration, this cruise ship felt like the perfect refuge.

No one would ever suspect that she planned to hide away on the endless ocean for the rest of her days.

This time, she was embarking on this journey alone.

Just then, her phone buzzed. Ryan’s name flashed on the screen.

“Babe, the pack’s getting together tonight. Don’t forget,” his voice came through, warm but insistent.

“Where are you? I’ll come get you,” he added, concern threading through his tone.

Hearing that genuine worry made Tessa’s stomach twist uncomfortably.

She had only recently stumbled upon a painful truth—by pure accident—that Ryan’s true heart had always belonged to Chloe, not her.

Even though they were destined mates.

No wonder her wolf, Clara, had seemed so despondent.

After they bonded, Tessa had begun to soften toward him, yet her inexperience in relationships left her hesitant to fully open up. Ryan had spent an entire year doing everything within his power to bring her happiness.

He was always there when she needed support, offering comfort and a steady sense of security. Even on the most mundane days, he surprised her with thoughtful gestures.
