Miranda already knew a bit about what Tracy had been through, and that was another reason she chose to return.

She hated the Jackmans, too. So when Tracy said she hated them, Miranda could understand.

Still, knowing Tracy’s personality, Miranda assumed she’d only want to break things off and walk away.

The fact that she was actively targeting them only meant her suffering had been far worse than Miranda imagined.

“Tracy … What really happened to you?” Miranda asked softly, her voice tinged with pain.

Tracy, of course, couldn’t talk about what had happened at the academy. But she could feel Miranda’s genuine concern.

Miranda froze, unable to react for a long while.

He looked between Miranda and Tracy, slowly piecing it together.

He let out a long sigh. “Miranda, do you know how wrecked I was when I heard what happened to you? I was so grateful you were safe … I know you’re always fond of Tracy, but you shouldn’t team up with her to spread these lies. You’ve misled us for years, and now you’ve really gone too far.”

Miranda, who had been ready to leave, was so taken aback by his arrogance that she actually laughed.

“Andrew, I’ve wanted to say this for a long time–you are so full of yourself.”

She used to see him through the rosy lens of love, believing he was smart, decisive, and

reliable.

But now that the lens was shattered, she finally see him for what he was: nothing more than a pompous fool.

Seeing this, Tracy cut in. “Mr. Jackman, in your heart, isn’t Erin always the perfect little sister? Pure, innocent, never at fault?”

Andrew’s eyes narrowed, unhappy that she dared interrupt his talk with Miranda–and worse, that she dared question Erin.

But Tracy ignored him. Calmly, she pulled out her phone and brought up a video. “Since you’re here, Mr. Jackman, why don’t you take a look at this?”

It was the footage Tom had given her.

The contents were explosive, enough to make Andrew’s expression twist with shock. For a moment, he even forgot about Miranda’s sudden return from the dead.

“This is impossible!” he snapped, glaring at Tracy. “If you wanted to smear Erin, you could’ve at least made it believable. T–this nonsense is absurd!”

Tracy had expected that reaction.

The Jackmans had been under Erin’s spell for so long that no matter what proof she showed them, they would never believe it outright. That was why she hadn’t used it from the start.

“Mr. Jackman,” she said coolly, her gaze sharp, “if you’re that confident, shall we bet on it?”
