I walked up to the secretary. Her desk is placed in the middle of a huge space with a large window right behind her. To her left is the office of Mr Henley and to her right is Mrs Voss.
"Hey, I came to give in my cellphone, "
The white lady gave me a friendly smile and took my cell phone. We, the ones staying at the academy must give in our cellphones because it's just a flat brick here. I have no internet connection here, I can't charge my phone I just can't use it. She returned and gave me a new thing.
It was a green crystal, the size of a large soap bar. It had a screen like a normal phone and she went through it with me. Its pictures look like how would see the world with our naked eye.
I snapped a picture of myself, my brown skin had a healthy glimmer and my big teeth were so white. I loved how broad my mouth is in one selfie. There's also the option to have everything pop up like a hologram. This I heard from the phone guide, Geoff. He was the creator of the thing about five hundred years ago.
I took my green crystal phone and left. I was intrigued by this gadget that I messed around with it, I wanted to learn more about my phone until I thought I have gotten a hang out of it. So after searching for the nearest park, I placed my phone in my rucksack and sat down on a bench.
The weather never changes in Meledsan, at first I thought the sky was preparing to get ready for a nasty storm but Aaliyah told me that the clouds are permanently dark grey here.
But it didn't stop me from enjoying the view. I watched ducks swimming and people feeding them. Well, witches.
I started getting hungry too, my stomach roared and I opened my rucksack to retrieve my bacon cheese sandwich. It was wrapped in foil. I was excited to eat my bread. I know it's going to be delicious.
I brought the sandwich closed to my mouth and as I was about to take my first bite.
"Can I have a slice of bread?"
The little girl's voice came as a surprise. Before me stood a white-passing girl wearing a thin dress. Her shoes were broken. I know what that's like. To not have proper clothes. Her blonde hair was roughly tied to the back, kind of like she did it herself. Her yellow skin stained with dirt. So she hasn't had a wash or something.
She was so cute. Her big blue eyes looked at me, and I genuinely felt bad for her. I gave her a bright smile and gave her my two slices. She grinned and sat down next to me. I watched her chew.
"My name is Jade," she shared while she chewed.
I nodded my head and grinned. "Where you from? Here?"
She shook her head. "I got brought here by an earthquake,"
I know kids also get brought here but I've never met one personally. I got worried about her.
"When?"
"Today,"
"Where's your family?"
She shrugged, "I don't think I have parents. I'm an orphan,"
She shared. She swallowed the bread and looked at the ducks swimming, "I've always wondered what it's like if I had a mom and a dad. Fuck, I'd even settle for at least one,"
"Hey! You don't say a swear,"
"Lily!"
Jade exclaimed and opened her arms. The cat jumped in it and licked her face.
"We have a new pet," Aaliyah told.
"Don't call me a pet," Lily replied and jumped on the floor to transform into her human form.
I froze up completely, getting hot flashes. It's like I was the only one having a mini panic attack. What was happening?
She was a short female with an oval-shaped face, her broad shoulders and long arms looked magnificent. She had no hips, which is fine because she looked great.
Her curly brown hair hung on her shoulders, but her hair wasn't exactly very short since she had a very thick long neck.
We didn't know what to say.
"Well?" Her deep voice cut through the room, "nothing to drink?"
Aaliyah shook her head.
"I'm a vampiric creature called a cranter, don't look so surprised, you're in a magical world. There's bound to be crazy beasts lurking,"
