Their Hidden Princess (Zora) novel Chapter 115

Thorne had witnessed countless sparring matches during his two-plus years at Alpha Academy, but never had he seen one spiral into such chaos. The atmosphere was charged, thick with tension, and the air crackled as the fighters clashed. Normally, an instructor would intervene, breaking up the Alphas before any real damage could be done. Yet, the Headmaster stood by, seemingly indifferent, which left Thorne utterly bewildered. Why was he allowing this, especially with a student as esteemed as Princess Zora involved?

Adding to his frustration was the fact that he was stuck tending to his un-fated mate while his betrothed, Lunerly, was off gallivanting with Zora. It was infuriating to watch Lunerly’s obvious infatuation with Zora. Thorne huffed in irritation as he carefully wrapped a bandage around Zora’s injured leg, ensuring it was snug.

“I believe proper blood flow is essential for healing, you know,” Zora snapped down at him, her tone laced with annoyance.

Thorne shot back, “It needs to be tight to stop the bleeding,” as he yanked the wrap again, feeling a surge of defiance. Zora hissed, her eyes narrowing, and shot him a glare that could cut glass.

“She’s fucking awful,” Zora complained, her voice tinged with exasperation. “Like truly, entirely awful. I didn’t expect rainbows and butterflies, but—fucking hell, is she terrible.”

Thorne raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “What do you mean by ‘expect’?” he asked, continuing to wrap the bandage around Zora’s shredded thigh. Most of the damage was already healing, but the blood made it appear far worse than it truly was.

“I mean, as her servant, she completely ignored me,” Zora replied, her voice quickening with frustration. “I’d heard the rumors, but actually having to talk to her—” she shook her head in disbelief, her expression a mixture of disgust and incredulity.

Thorne tightened the bandage once more, and Zora hissed in pain again. Her hand shot down to grasp his shoulder, a silent plea for him to ease up. He immediately looked up, meeting her gaze. Her face contorted in discomfort, but there were no tears in her eyes, a testament to her strength. He returned to his task, her hand lingering on his shoulder, a connection neither of them could ignore.

“You really want to be stuck with that?” Zora asked, her voice filled with incredulity, as if she couldn’t fathom why anyone would choose such a fate.

“I don’t have a choice,” Thorne grunted, the weight of obligation heavy in his voice. “The Queen asked me. I accepted. There’s nothing else for me to do. I live to serve. I owe Victoria everything.” His tone was resolute, but beneath it lay a flicker of uncertainty.

“So that’s why you broke it,” Zora said softly, her voice taking on a gentler tone.

Thorne blinked, taken aback. “What?” he asked, genuinely confused.
