Their Hidden Princess (Zora) novel Chapter 126

**Where Sleeping Rivers Dream We Follow Trails Toward Tomorrow**

I had never felt a discomfort quite like this before, standing rigidly across from Valentin’s imposing desk, flanked by Thorne and Maximus. The air around us was thick with tension, and an uncomfortable silence enveloped the three of us, our heads bowed as Valentin’s piercing gaze bore down on us. Outside the office, I could faintly hear Loren and Bella exchanging snarky comments, their laughter a stark contrast to the gravity of our situation.

Time dragged on, each second stretching into an eternity as we awaited our fate. Valentin had hardly uttered a word since he had led us across the campus, his demeanor cold and distant. Upon our arrival, he had ordered Loren and Bella to remain outside, dismissing them with a wave of his hand before ushering Thorne, Maximus, and me into his office.

It was a surreal moment, finding myself in a room with three individuals I had once thought I shared a strong bond with. The atmosphere hummed with unspoken words and a faint, crackling energy that radiated from the High Alphas. My hands trembled with a yearning to tap into the magiks that surged within me, a restless power that begged for release.

“Stay calm,” Mona, my wolf, urged softly within my mind. “An outburst won’t help us now.”

“I’m trying,” I replied through gritted teeth, frustration bubbling just beneath the surface.

As the silence stretched on, the tension in the room became unbearable, until at last, Valentin exhaled a heavy sigh and slumped back into his chair. He pinched the bridge of his nose, his expression one of exhaustion as he cast a weary glance at the three of us.

“I have far more pressing issues to deal with than your petty rumors,” he stated, his voice laced with fatigue.

“Sir,” Thorne began, his voice steady but edged with urgency. Valentin’s eyes flicked lazily towards him. “These aren’t just rumors. You saw how Zora attacked the Princess. As the future High Alpha Consort—”

“I’m well aware of your title,” Valentin interrupted, cutting Thorne off with a dismissive wave of his hand. “You also witnessed the entire spar and know exactly what transpired. The crown has no use for deceitful claims, Blythwitch.”

Thorne’s mouth snapped shut, the words dying on his lips. He lowered his head, his eyes wide with realization as they searched the carpet beneath his feet. Maximus crossed his arms tightly over his chest, his steely gaze locked onto Valentin, a silent challenge in his posture.

“So, it was merely a rumor?” Maximus pressed, his tone skeptical. “Zora didn’t actually attempt to kill the Princess?”

“To a degree,” Valentin sighed, letting his hands fall to his lap. “However, I must admit that some of the defensive maneuvers Zora executed were far more advanced than what I’ve been teaching her. It seems the rumors surrounding her second trainer hold some truth after all.”

Maximus remained silent, his expression unreadable as he continued to focus intently on Valentin. I stole a glance at him, then shifted my attention back to the Headmaster, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on us.
