Chapter 154
Chapter 154
Jessica’s respect for her work ethic grew as she gently knocked on the door. “It’s past ten. Time to head home.”
“Jessi?” Sana glanced at her phone and mumbled, “Wow, time really flies.”
Without any fuss, Sana immediately started packing up her things to leave.
Jessica gave her a brief reminder before turning toward the elevator.
By this hour, the office was nearly empty except for a few people rushing to finish their work.
As Jessica stepped toward the elevator, Sana came running up behind her. “Jessi, did you drive today? Do you want me to give you a ride home?”
“Thanks, but I drove myself,” Jessica replied.
“Then drive carefully on your way home. Please be safe out there.”
“I will. You too.”
During the elevator ride down, Sana kept making small talk while Jessica responded politely to each comment.
When they reached the parking garage and headed toward their respective cars, Jessica suddenly stopped and turned around. “Where did you say that psychology clinic was located again?”
Sana turned back in surprise, then quickly recovered. “I’ll send the address to your WhatsApp.”
“Great, thanks.”
“No problem at all.” Sana watched Jessica’s car pull out of the parking garage before getting into her vehicle.
She wanted to ask Jessica if she really had psychological issues and if she was aware of them herself. This was actually a good thing. If there were problems, they could be resolved.
Sana sent the clinic’s address to Jessica’s phone.
“Someone as accomplished as Jessi having psychological problems?” Sana mused to herself. “And Jessica hasn’t released any new work in ages. Was it because of mental health issues? Now Jessica is preparing for a comeback…”
Back at Grant Manor, the moment Jessica stepped inside, Stella’s sharp nose caught the scent of paint clinging to her clothes.
Jessica’s palm–sized face made her eyes appear even larger when she lost weight. Though with her naturally small face, it was hard to tell if she’d actually gotten thinner.
“Gained weight? Where?” Stella worried that Jessica might be dieting out of fear of getting fat. She changed the subject. “Have some soup before you go upstairs. Think of it as a late–night snack. May, bring us two bowls of soup.”
Worried that Jessica wouldn’t have an appetite drinking alone, Stella decided to join her. After all, Stella was quite strict about her own figure and wouldn’t tolerate even a bit of extra flesh around her waist.
