Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 121

‘Got it.

I’ll make sure everyone knows,”

Harley said, turning to leave.

Richard chose to steer clear of Yadel Group’s mess, all for Sophia’s sake.

But just because he wasn’t jumping into the frenzy didn’t mean he wouldn’t kick the Westwood family when it was down.

The Westwood family had ruled the industry long enough; it was time for a new contender to step up.

That same night.

Jason picked Annabelle up and brought her to the Sterling residence.

When she arrived, Richard had just gotten back.

They crossed paths in the living room, and Annabelle felt her nerves tighten with anxiety.

Even though she’d met Richard a handful of times before, there was always this instinctive sense of apprehension around him.

“Hi, Uncle Richard,”

Annabelle said softly.

Richard nodded, his tone gentle.

“Make yourself at home.

There’s no need to feel nervous.”

Annabelle anxiously murmured, “Really, I can handle myself.

I don’t want you to be bothered because of me.”

“Sophia personally asked me for this favor.

As long as her research isn’t finished, it’s my job to keep you absolutely safe.

That’s the promise I gave her,”

Richard replied.

Annabelle knew the Sterling family was serious about keeping their word, but Richard was the poster boy for ruthless capitalism; he was the type to chew people up and spit out the bones.

But now, seeing him treat his word to Sophie as law, Annabelle couldn’t help but be surprised.

“Uncle Richard, could it be that-”

Annabelle wondered to herself.

You actually like Sophie?‘ But as Richard’s eyes landed on her, Annabelle bit back the rest of her words, swallowing her question before it slipped out.

Richard raised an eyebrow.

“Go on.”

“Nothing, really.

Thank you for taking me in, Uncle Richard.

I promise I won’t be running around or giving Sophie any trouble while she’s in the lab,”

Annabelle said in a hurry.

Richard nodded.

“It’s getting late.

You should get some rest.”

Sterling’s private life is a mystery even to me.”

Then she added, “But seriously, Uncle Richard is just different when it comes to Sophie.”

The last time Annabelle had called Richard to ask for help with Sophia, she’d figured he wouldn’t lift a finger.

Even if he did, she’d expected him to send someone else.

But no, he showed up in person.

Jason just smiled, keeping his lips sealed.

Seeing he was as tight–lipped as ever, Annabelle realized she wasn’t going to get any juicy gossip out of him and finally just let it go.

Three days flew by, and Lucas’s domestic abuse scandal stayed glued to the top of the trending topics list.

No matter how much the Westwood family shelled out to bury the story, it would bounce right back to the top in a heartbeat.

Everyone could tell at a glance that Lucas had pissed off the wrong person, and now somebody was hell–bent on destroying him.

Meanwhile, Yadel Group’s stocks were tanking, and their products were getting boycotted left and right.

Major department stores were yanking their products off the shelves, and retailers who had placed orders were all clamoring for refunds.

Billy and the shareholders looked dark.

Lucas was grilled, stripped of his duties, and sent home to lie low.

But even that wasn’t enough to calm the storm online.

Netizens were still demanding that Lucas publicly apologize to his wife and beg for her forgiveness.

While the internet was in a total uproar, Sophia finally resurfaced after days locked away in her lab.
